I'd Choose You Over Anything

Chapter 2- Suspect 1

Once Lizzie had shown up at Josie's house. They walked to the living room. Josie made tea and handed it to Lizzie.

"Do they know who did it?" Josie shook her head. All she knew was her dad was dead. She didn't ask questions, she was afraid of the answers.

"Why'd you stay in this shitty town anyway?" Josie shrugged and Lizzie found this weird. It's like Josie couldn't speak.

"Have you talked to Hope?" Josie spit out some of her tea and Lizzie made a disgusted face.

"I'm guessing not?" Josie lightly placed her cup down.

"No, I haven't seen her in years. She's probably adventuring the world." Lizzie sat back in her chair and crossed her arms.

"Why did you guys even break up? You guys were legendary." Josie laughed at Lizzie. Lizzie has never spoken like a nerd before.

"You've been hanging out with Mg for way too long. Also me and Hope just drifted apart. It happens." Lizzie nods and decides to not ask anymore questions.

They sat in silence for awhile. They didn't know what to talk about. Lizzie wanted to know more about the breakup from back then and also learn more about her fathers death, while Josie wanted to do nothing.

Jade had opened the door and Lizzie rolled her eyes. Josie slapped Lizzie's arm and Lizzie groaned in pain.

"Why are you still with her?" Josie gives Lizzie the death stare and Jade kisses Josie's cheek.

"Lizzie it's so nice to see you." Jade said with the most fakest smile known to man.

"Wish I could say the same for you." Lizzie never liked Jade. She always thought Jade was two faced and turns out, Jade was two faced but she just hid it well.

Hope had found a motel not too far from the station. She checked a room out and went to her room. Hope couldn't relax though so she went to the boarding school. Dorian let her in and they hugged.

"Finally, they accepted my request." Hope raised an eyebrow and Dorian smiled.

"You requested me to come back to Mystic Falls?" Dorian nods. Hope sighs and they go into Dorian's office.

"So Hope what have you been up to?" Hope sat down in a chair.

"I've been chasing down bad guys." Dorian turned around and took a sip of water.

"Even after graduation?" Hope nods and Dorian seemed surprised. After all he knew Hope wanted to save people. She just never went into depth about why. Dorian just assumed she wanted to be a good person, nothing more.

Emma walked through the doors and she gasped," Hope Mikaelson."

Hope stood up and held a hand out towards Emma. Emma ignored the hand and instantly hugged Hope.

"It feels like you've been gone forever."

"I was intending to stay away from town. I never wanted to come back." Emma pulled away from the hug and looked at Dorian. He shrugged and Hope sat back down.

"I came to discuss some things that might be of some interest to the station. I hope it's okay if I can question you guys and get some help." Dorian nods.

"Good, did Ric ever see anybody?" Emma looks down and Dorian gulps.

"Of course not the man was in love with the booze." Hope could tell he was lying.

"If you're lying then they'll think you're trying to hide the killer. We can't have any mistakes made about this case. So I ask again, has Ric been seeing someone?"

Dorian nods and Hope made a mental note. Emma leaves the room and Dorian sits down in a chair.

"He's actually been seeing Emma. I just found out about it last night." Hope made a mental note of that. Dorian had motive to kill Dr. Saltzman. Suspect 1 has been found.

Back in the station, Landon was going through everything. He replayed the scene in his head and how he'd think things would've went down. He was smart, this was the only way he'd solve cases.

There was a knock on the door and Landon opened the door. Someone handed him a bag and he took it. They left and Landon placed the bag on his desk. He'll look at it later.

He went back to replaying the scene. Hope came barging into the room and Landon looked towards her.

"Yes Hope?" Hope looks like she has a lead.

"Follow me." Landon stood up and followed Hope outside the station. He wondered where they could be going.

"Hope." Hope looked at him and they got into his car.

"Okay so remember Dorian," Landon nods," Well he had motive. Alaric was seeing Emma the school counselor. Dorian and Emma are dating and they have been for quite some time." Landon raises an eyebrow. He wanted her to get down to the point.

"Okay? and I don't think Dorian would kill anybody."

"Landon, think about it. They were best friends."

"But you said the killer was a girl. Why you changing things up now?" Hope sighed and face palmed her forehead.

"Dorian had motive. He's the only guy-"

"It could be anyone, this town has a lot of people who was upset with Ric. Maybe you should really lay down." Hope agreed.

Landon drove Hope to her motel and they walked to her room. There was a note on the door and Landon grabbed it.

"You're looking in the wrong places. Maybe you should meet up with another friend from the past ;)." Landon read out loud. Hope didn't want to reconnect with anybody.

"I'll go talk to Jo, I know you guys have a rough past and I don't want to put you up to meeting her since you just got back."

Hope smiled and looked down at the ground,"We can go meet up with her after I get some rest."

Landon nods and Hope opens her room up. Landon said his goodbyes and left the motel.

He knew Hope didn't want to meet up with Josie. They did have a rough past after all. He just didn't know how much went down. But for Hope it's always been about business and worry later. No matter the consequences, she'd always catch the bad guys.

Author's Note: This is short and also I always go to sleep or try to sleep after I update a chapter and what not so I'm sorry for the late  replies. I hope you guys are enjoying this a little bit
