Hope was waiting at the diner for Josie. Josie finally showed up after being 30 minutes late. Not that Hope cared or intended to care because she did have a job she had to work on. But she also felt compelled to tell Josie this news.

"You wanted to meet up, what's this all about?" Josie sat down across from Hope. Hope took a sip of her soda.

"I have bad news for you." Hope had said and Josie wasn't liking where this was going. What could have been so bad that Hope had to tell her it?

"Dorian is dead and we believe that Emma is part of this." Josie feels upset, she didn't think anyone could go after Dorian. Dorian was a sweet guy. Everyone trusted him.

"He's dead?" Hope nods at Josie's question. "Do you guys know who did it?" Hope shakes her head.

"We suspect Emma did this but we aren't to sure. Has Emma and Dorian ever fought? Or was there anything super serious going on?" Josie shakes her head.

"Do you know of anyone who'd like to harm Dorian?" Josie shakes her head once more.

"Are you sure Jo? We need to know everything. You can't hide anything or that'll mess with the investigation." Hope needed more information. Josie needs to give more. This would go a whole lot better if Josie just have her more.

"Yes I'm sure Hope. I don't know anything else. If I did I would've told you. I know nobody who would want to hurt Dorian and Emma isn't one to kill. She's a sweet person rather you like it or not. Just because you had a bad time with Emma doesn't mean everyone else did." Josie stood up and walked out of the diner.

Hope and Landon were back at the station. Hope couldn't rest, she only had 3 more days until she had to go back to New Orleans. Landon didn't find anything. Emma was gone or someone got to her before he could.

"So not only do we have a case going on right now, we also have Emma running around doing god knows what." Hope sighed and took a sip of coffee.

"Hope, maybe we should give it another shot?" Landon suggest. "No, we can't do that. It'll be like going back to square one and we already have enough clues."

Landon sits down across from Hope,"Hope, look at me," Hope looked at Landon,"Let's get all our clues together. Starting with Alaric, ending with Emma going missing. We need to retrace our steps." Hope nods.

"Let's go to the crime scene from Alarics death, try to act out the murder?" Hope asked and Landon agreed.

————

They got to Alaric's crime scene. Hope sat down across from Landon who was playing the role of Alaric.

"So they said he had wine in his system so pretend to drink wine." Landon did as told,"So what happened next? Did he get poisoned?"

"He did have poison in his system along with the drink but his throat was also sliced opened." Landon said and Hope stood up.

"So I poison you, but I decide that it would be taking too long so I grab my knife, walk up behind you and I place the knife onto your neck," Hope did all of those movements but she didn't actually grab a knife,"Then I drop the knife and I walk towards the front door and get into my car. But there has to be something else."

Landon felt under the table and pulled out a paper. He opened it and he read it out loud,"J"

Hope turned to Landon and looked at the paper. Landon and Hope both looked at each other.

"So now let's go to the building that Dorian died at. There as to be another clue there." Landon agreed and they made their way over to Dorian's crime scene.

————

They finally got to Dorian's crime scene. Hope searched everywhere and didn't find anything. Landon did the same thing but didn't find anything as well.

"So our only evidence here is black hair. Besides that this place has nothing." Hope sighed and Landon looked around some more. He saw a paper and grabbed it.

He handed it to Hope and Hope opened it up and read it out loud,"You won't find me."

"That's it?" Landon asked and Hope nodded. That was all the paper said.

"Wait, where's the paper with J on it?" Landon took it out of his pocket and Hope grabbed it. She placed the J one under the "You won't find me one."

"We need to search everyone who's name starts with a J. Keep a close watch on them and see who our killer is." Hope came up with the idea.

"Don't you leave in 3 days though?" Hope nods and put the papers in her back pocket.

"Jade and Josie, keep an eye on them. I'll find Emma." Landon didn't like the sound of this. He couldn't let Hope go alone. They were partners after all.

"I'm not letting you go alone. That's not what partners do Hope." Hope looked around, she wanted to find more evidence. Something that will point her in the right direction.

"I'll be fine. I work better alone anyway." Landon disagreed. He's seen how Hope has been for the past couple of days. Hope hasn't sleeps properly ever since the case started, she even throws random ideas out that could make zero sense. He didn't like her going off on her own.

"We do this as partners Hope. I'm not letting you go alone. Josie is probably innocent, she would've never hurt anyone before and she probably won't now. I believe in her." Landon said.

"Just because she was nice and innocent back then, doesn't mean she hasn't changed because she has." Hope said angrily without meaning to sound angry.

"Have you ever thought why she's changed so much? You left her, her sister left her, she's in some toxic relationship but somehow covers it all up, and let's not forget her dad and Dorian just died. You have to give her a break." Hope rolled her eyes.

"Then she has motive into becoming a killer. We can't just treat her differently because of what she went through in the past Landon." Landon shook his head.

"You're missing the point Hope. You fell in love with her, she fell in love with you, you guys became distant for no reason."

"We had a reason Landon." Hope was getting more furious by the second. What has everyone living in the past? Was everything happening because of the past? That's something she never thought of.
