Beep. Beep.

I groaned at the sound of the alarm knowing what's coming next.

"Grace it's time to wake up," said a familiar voice. I looked up to see a being that had a camera lens for irises.

Dahlia. My non-living assistant. Designed and created by my mom Jemma Everdale. Well, she was renowned in the field of architecture and AI designs. I groaned sitting up.

"I'm up, I'm up." I raise my hand in surrender cause I know for a fact that Dahlia will go to many heights when it comes to waking me up. She acknowledged me with a smile. A smile that reminded me she wasn't human. Well for the robot that she is emotion doesn't come to them as easily as it does to us. It takes a few seconds to identify the emotion of the sentence, interpret it and calculate which muscles or in these moving parts should be moved to create the desired facial emotion. I think even though with a second or two delays it's amazing what AI has created.

And mostly it's not even noticed it's just that I am attentive to small details or that's what my father always says.

I rise from my bed and make my way to the huge bathroom which in my opinion is uncomfortable. Every day I go through the same morning routine but still leaves me with an uncomfortable feeling of being naked in a huge bathroom. It's just too...big.

I look at the mirror which started with 'Good morning Miss Everdale. It seems you haven't gotten much sleep. I will reschedule your schedule today itself. Today is much cloudy and windy but the probability for it to rain is 15%. It is advised to take a jacket with you since the temperature is expected to drop to 26 degrees Celsius .' My mirror said displaying today's forecast.

Yes, the mirror talks cause this whole house is alive all under a computer code called' House' which I think is a lame name but It monitors the house from its occupants to protect the house from breaks in or any other possible threat.

I with a sigh brushed my teeth, took a warm shower, and washed my hair after which I proceeded to dry my wet hair and climbed into a simple outfit. White shirt, Black jeans, and a black military jacket.

By the time I reached downstairs, Mom was already there. 'What would you like for breakfast dear?" She asked with a smile.

"Some toast and eggs sound good". With a nod, she place two slices of bread on either slot and inserted instructions on the screen of the toaster. The toaster is designed to toast it in any way you like, even if you want it burnt which I don't know why the designer put that feature in but insert how you want it toasted and it will give it just like you asked for.

Ring. Ring.

With a sigh, my mother took the phone with an apologetic glance she left the room which was fine since I was not a baby anymore. I took my toast and scrambled eggs and in a sudden decision, I wanted a smoothie. Banana and strawberry. my favourite.

As I slowed to begin to eat the flavoursome food I heard my mother shouting into the phone. My mother. Jemma Everdale is one of the most important space designing personnel of the organization called MUNDUS.

Mankind's Universal Nebulous of Deep-space Union of Space research.

MUNDUS in Latin means the world or universe. A union of all space research organizations both national and private founded by NASA and ISRO.

MUNDUS is also the organization in which both my parents work. Also, the organization that forced me into that surgery I am recovering from. It is supposed to increase the immune system or something and I am lucky to be the first because of my parent's position.
