3. Lost echos

"For the last time, I am not going to stay home for the rest of ETERNITY doing NOTHING. and if you think you can STOP me then stop me." I shout at my parents. We have been discussing the problem all day. Before my father went to the office. After he went. While my mom was doing her work. Even Dahlia. It is just so infuriating.

The problem is quite simple. I don't want to spend the rest of my hopeless life inside four walls. For instance, Adrian's parents are very close family friends but I don't know a fucking thing about them. Now my mother coming back from work early dared to bring this up.

"Sweetheart it's not how you think—" my mother started.

"That's enough Jemma." I turn around to find my father coming in with Dahlia and my sister. She ran towards me to entrap me in a hug. Gods since when were 10-year-olds this strong? Luna my loving sister. I missed her. But not like I am going to accept that in front of her. I would NEVER accept that in front of her. She is an annoying devil ow always bites me in the—

"What happens? Dad said there was some accident. I hope you ok?" I gave a smile and turned to my father.

"Dad I know you're just conscious but please..."

With a nod he said. " I have made my decision. How old are you Grace? 17. Right? A year more you will be leaving."

I gaped at him surprised at the quick change of subject.

"Next year you will go to face the world. My baby girl against the whole world. You will fall in love and even get married." there was an envelope in his hand he was waving around. "And I nor Jemma would be able to protect you and yesterday's incident proves and justified that you can take care of yourself. Adrian said you were the reason you both made it out safe."

" So Neither of us will stop you in anything. Grace, you're a grown woman now." He said with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.

I was overwhelmed with excitement and surprise by my father's acknowledgement I didn't know what to feel. "And the Buford's invited us to dinner so be—"

"Whatever okay? You guys need to stop making a fuss. Let's just get ready and get going." My obnoxious 13-year-old sister said with an annoyed glance. Yup Luna Everdale. My sister aka the biggest brat to ever exist. Just entered her teenage but already dancing on top of our heads. 

And to make things even worse she was allowed to go outside! My parents said going outside would affect my treatment or so. I was never allowed to ask about the details. All my mother said was 'quick surgery and you were alright!'

'At least now I can walk outside alone...'

"Girls start getting ready" my mother announced and as usual Luna stormed to her room making obnoxious noise all the way there.

Well, the girl's home and she wants to make a lot of noise. I sigh and make my way to my room to get ready.

Our car stopped in front of a mansion filled with luminous light making it impossible to take your off. We slowly make our way towards the mansion when a butler approaches us and said "Welcome. Please follow me." On a more detailed inspection, I noticed the butler was an android.

The mansion was huge but ours wasn't any bad there was more a vintage design while ours is more a modern design. The butler opened the door to the living room to be stopped. I looked up confused. "le sir Adrian is in his room and Noah," He said looking at my sister "would be delighted to play with you. Shall I show the way?" The void looked up to my parents for permission. "Now always be care--" my mom started.
