Chapter 8: Emotional

As she arrived at the hospital, Patricia  and Dawn assisted her as soon as she arrived.

"How's Greggy? where is he? napano ba? bakit?" She bombarded her with questions in worry.

"Irene, Irene it's okay." Patricia tried to calm her down. "Where is he?" "Ano kasi nangyari?" She demanded for answers.

Dawn helped Patricia to calm Irene down. They made her sit down and listen. "My brother is in critical condition pero inaasikaso na siya ng mga doktor." Patricia informed, it didn't bring any relief to her.

They patiently waited until the doctor came out from the emergency to give them updates. Upon waiting, Elvira   informed Patricia that she will  be arriving shortly.  Imelda came to the hospital with Bong Bong and her wife to assist Irene as well as they worried for her.

"Ma'am?" The doctor called Patricia. "Ma'am Irene." He uttered before he flipped the pages of the necessary information jotted down by the nurses.

"Kamusta na yung lagay ni Greggy, doc?" Irene and Patricia asked, "Okay na naman si Gregorio." He brought so much relief to them. "My god, thank you. Salamat sa diyos." Irene exclaimed.

"Wala pa rin siyang malay pero we'll wait for 48 hours. If hindi parin siya gumising, we'll have to do another round of check up baka kase may internal fractures or bleeding, hemorrhage na hindi nadetect. We just have to be sure." He followed.

"Okay, doc. Ang mahalaga stable na siya ngayon." Patricia replied and rubbed Irene's back. "Thank you, doc. Pwede na ba namin siya makita?" Irene asked eagerly.

"Yes, of course. The assigned nurse will call you nalang once his room is ready." He permitted and excused himself.

The nurses assisted them in. Irene nearly broke down as soon as she saw his condition. He had scratches on his face, gauze around his forehead, a tube in his mouth and bandages on his arms to protect his wounds.

Dawn and Patricia tried to keep herself intact so she won't trigger the alarming atmosphere. She rubbed Irene's back as she took a seat beside his bed.

After a while, Patricia approached her again. "Irene, uuwi muna ako . Kukunin ko mga damit ni Greggy and pupunta din ako sa office to inform them sa nangyari. Babalik ako mamayang gabi. Si Elvira  parating narin yon maya maya." She informed her, Irene nodded lifelessly. "Okay lang ikaw muna dito?" She asked.

"Oo, sige. Walang problema. I won't leave here ." She agreed and watched her go. "Ingat" she bid before she left.

"Irene oh uminon ka muna ng tubig namumutla ka okay ka lang ba?" Dawn asked as she noticed how Irene looks very pale.

She went back to sitting beside him and carefully held his hand. She looked at him and watched him sleep peacefully.

"Greggy, gumising ka na." She begged softly. "Hindi ko naman sinasadyang masabihan ka ng masama, nadala lang ako ng emosyon ko." She explained hoping he could hear her.

"Greggy, hindi pwedeng may mangyaring masama sa'yo. Paano kami ni Alfonso?  Babawi kapa sakin diba?" She kissed his arm.
"Please ayokong mawala ka ng ganito tayo" She continued, tears streamed down her cheeks. She frantically stroked his hand with her thumb, "Mahal parin kita." She cried and kissed his cheek softly making sure his scratches won't get touched by her lips.

She wished her tears could do miracles like heal him but it was too much for her to ask. He remained unconscious even until Elvira, and Patricia came to check on him. Imee accompanied Bong Bong as they arrived, Bea came for a visit as well as she brings Alfonso.
