Bittersweet// Taekook

Chapter 5

There was a very strong rain and thunderstorm outside. And it's 2  in the morning. In the empty hallway, he was pacing back and forth. He was very tense. He tried to sit on the bench but he couldn't.

Finally, he sat on the bench. He looked at the closed door. Suddenly he heard a loud screaming and a little voice of an infant. He ran towards the door to open up. He looked through the glass door to see his wife and newborn baby. But it was all blur. The glass door slowly slide and a nurse came outside. He looked at her with anxiety.

"Mr Jung ????" She asked he nodded suddenly waiting for the news. She smiled

" Congrats it's a baby boy. " His smile widened. He peeked through the slightly opened door.

" My wife. How is she . ? " He asked.

" She is perfectly alright. Don't worry. " After saying this she went inside. He took a deep breath and sat there with a wide smile. Finally, now he is a father. Their family is complete now. He can't wait to see his love and their little love.

He was in deep thought with a smile. Suddenly the door opened and the nurse came to him hurriedly. He panicked seeing her face. Something is wrong.

" Please give me the former checkup results. " She was impatient. He hurriedly opened the bag and took a file and gave it to her. She grabbed that from him and ran towards the door without saying anything.

" Is...is there any problem." He was scared by her action.

" About the child..." before she could complete her sentence another nurse came outside." Make it fast . He is suffering" they ran inside.

He felt like his world is crashing down. He sat down there like a statue. He was praying for his child's life. He drops of tears falls from his eyes.

After 15 minutes the door opened and the doctor came out, with a frown. He walked towards her with his weak legs. She looked at him with concern.

" About the child's health it's complicated," she said. He looked at her with teary eyes.
"His heart is weak. I don't know how come the previous checkups didn't notice that. " She took a deep breath and looked at the man who stands in front of her, completely broken.

" He won't die....." She said. His eyes lighten up. " If we have done the heart transplant surgery. But the problem is his blood type. Its AB-ve. You know negative blood is rare. " She sighed.
" How long... How long he will live. " He asked her with a cracking voice.

" I don't know. Don't make him sad or something" she patted that young man's shoulder and left.

It's been almost 10years since their wedding. They waited for a child so long. They were only 21 when they eloped from south Korea. When they came to know about her pregnancy, their happiness was beyond everything. But it's going to shatter. He doesn't know how to explain all these to his wife. He shut his eyes tightly. He bit his lower lip.

"Mr Jung please come with me. " That nurse from earlier came and led him towards the nursery. He followed her. He saw him, his little baby sleeping peacefully. He stand there and watched him. Tears came from his eyes.

" Please don't leave us.. my baby... My Ggukie"

(I don't know whose baby is this..but from now on this is our little Jung Jeongguk ♥️)
