What happened that night has not been repeated. I don't want her to accuse me of abusing her, especially since I took her virginity. I don't want her to use her body to manipulate me. But honestly, it's hard to hold back my lust every time she's near.
As I said, she's a fucking goddess, and I proved it when I saw her body fully naked.
It's been a month since we got married. She played the role of a wife flawlessly. She knows a lot about housework, and I admit that all my previous accusations against her were wrong. But I know that I will be right when the day comes. I just have to wait—I can prove it to them.
In addition to doing the household chores, she also indulges in her hobbies: painting and carving. I didn't stop her; in fact, she even gifts my friends some of her works. I was about to leave for work when I saw her outside my room holding a tumbler.
"What are you doing there?" I asked.
She didn't answer. Instead, she handed me the tumbler. She always did this when I left late, preparing something I could bring to the office.
"I want to give you something, too," she said.
I frowned at her words.
"Hurry up; I'm late."
"There?" She pointed to a large picture frame wrapped in paper.
"What is that?" I asked.
"I'd like to give you a gift."
"Why?" She didn't respond, so I walked over to the frame and began to unwrap it. It measured about one meter by one meter. I was amazed by the beauty of the painting: a phoenix about to fly, the colors vibrant and captivating. Even if it were placed anywhere, the painting would overshadow everything else.
"Did you do that?" I asked, and she nodded.
"Yes." I stared at the painting, admitting that it was indeed amazing.
"Keep it there; I don't want my companions to see it. Find somewhere to display it," I said, not waiting for her to respond before I left. Was she trying to bribe me with her art? Damn! She would never succeed.
When I arrived at the office, I found four of my friends already there. There was food and drinks spread out on my mini table.
"What happened?" I asked as I walked in.
"Happy Monthsary!" Dane and Jace shouted while the other two stayed silent. Dane glared at them, prompting them to shout a happy monthsary as well.
"Monthsary?" I wondered aloud.
"Tss, we put in a lot of effort, and you didn't appreciate it?" Jace complained.
"This is Dane and Jace's idea," Zeus frowned.
"We had no choice, man," Blaze said, holding a bottle.
"Today marks your first month of marriage." Fortunately, one of my friends was sensible enough to point that out. But what? Wedding what?
"See, his brain is fried," Jace added.
"Shut up, Jace!" He wasn't helping. "Besides, why do I care? Go on; I'm busy." They all laughed and continued enjoying themselves.
They ate and drank in my office, and I was thankful that I wasn't expecting any visitors. They joked and chatted about nonsensical topics.
"What gift did you give your wife, bro?" Jace asked, looking at me expectantly.
"I need to give her a present?" I replied, incredulous.
"Probably. I'm sure Hailey has a gift for you, so you should get her one, too."
