"Good morning," Hailey greeted as I approached her, setting the table.

"My mornings are always good when you're the first thing I see." I kissed her, and she kissed me back.

"Eat before you're late for work."

"I still have time, maybe I could just eat you instead."

"Stop it, you already had your fill last night." She blushed as she said it. I pulled her closer, and she wrapped her arms around me. "Nix..."

"I could stare at you forever, Hailey. You're the only one I want to look at for the rest of my life."

"Nix..." She closed her eyes when I kissed her.

Her phone rang. She looked at me before answering.

"Hello? Yes, sir... Okay, I'll wait for you here."

"What's that? Oh, it's just... Phoenix refuses to sign." I furrowed my brows at her words. Who was she talking to?

"Ah, yes, he's here with me."

"Who is that?" I asked.

"Hold on." She covered the phone. "It's the attorney, asking about the annulment."

"Give it to me," I said, reaching for the phone.

"Yes, attorney?"

"Good morning, Phoenix. I'm following up on Hailey's annulment request."

"There is no annulment, attorney."

"I'm on my way over. Can you wait? We need to talk."

I looked at Hailey. "Sure." I ended the call and handed her the phone back.

"Phoenix?"

"There's no annulment, Hailey. I've told you before, and I'll say it again... there will be no annulment. Tell him I'll be in Grandpa's office."

I headed straight to my grandpa's office. A few minutes later, Hailey arrived with the attorney.

"Have a seat." The attorney sat across from me. Hailey was about to sit across from me as well, but I called her over. "Sit here beside me, wife." She nodded and sat next to me.

"I'm here to follow up on Hailey's annulment request," the attorney began.

"As I said on the phone, there will be no annulment."

"I understand, Phoenix. I'm not your enemy. Hailey filed for an annulment, so I'm following up on her decision. If she wants to withdraw, I'll close the case. If she wants to proceed, the case will remain open."

I looked at Hailey, who stared at me as the attorney spoke. "I assume you've fallen in love with your wife, Phoenix. But you must be aware of her struggles. She's unable to bear children. As your grandfather's trusted lawyer, I don't want Hailey to suffer in the future."

"Close the case," I said, turning to Hailey. "I'm not divorcing you."

"But, Nix, what about you?"

"What about me?"

"What about your dream of having lots of kids? Didn't you say before that you wanted a big family so your children would have lots of playmates? I remember you telling me that when we were kids."

"I don't want kids if you're not the mother."

"Phoenix..."

"I'm giving back all the assets Grandpa transferred to me. I'll pay back the 30 million I owe. And I'll sign an agreement right now stating that if anything happens to you, your money will go to charity. I won't take a cent."
