"I don't want to!" Hailey screamed in a tantrum. "I don't want to! I don't want to!" she said, stomping her feet.
"What do you want, then?"
"You!" she pouted like a child. "You don't love me anymore, Phoenix," she said, flopping onto the bed.
"What are you talking about, Hailey?"
"Hmp!" She turned her back on me with a scowl. What the... I almost cursed. Is this really what pregnant women are like? Crazy? Good thing I love her. I wasn't mad or upset, just a little frustrated because I couldn't understand her.
What she wanted was... damn! She wanted to have sex. What the hell! Middle of the day, sex? Like, damn! Sure, we're married, but... fuck, what's happening to me? Why am I getting shy now?
"Hailey, let's do it tonight."
"I don't want to!" she yelled, making me shut my eyes. "Just leave."
I walked over, sat beside her, and kissed her shoulder.
"Am I not beautiful in your eyes anymore? Not sexy because I have a baby bump now?"
"It's not like that. You're the most beautiful and sexiest woman I know."
"Really?"
"Yes, wife."
"Then kiss me." I kissed her, and she kissed me back. Our kiss deepened, especially when her hand roamed my body, down to my waist, and grabbed my now-hardening manhood. Damn, just her touch was driving me insane.
"I want you, Nix," she moaned. "I want you inside me and pump me harder." Damn! My wife knows how to drive me crazy with desire.
"Fine," I answered, feeling the heat rise in me, and my erection fully coming to life. But she got up, put on pajamas and a shirt. "Hey, where are you going?"
"Outside to eat."
"I thought you wanted to..."
"You said tonight, so we'll do it later." She walked out of the room. Damn! Just when my manhood was fully awake, she leaves me hanging.
I had no choice but to follow her. I found her laughing loudly. I followed the sound of her voice and saw her standing while a man had his ear pressed to her stomach. It was Enrique... her best friend.
"Hailey?" I called, walking over to them.
"Come here, Prince is here." I shot a glare at her friend. Does he think I've forgotten what he did to me? Should I punch him now that my wife and I are okay?
"Congrats," he said, extending his hand to me.
"Thanks."
"I'm happy for you, princess, especially now that you're happy. You deserve it."
"Thanks, Prince." Then they hugged.
"Ahem!" I cleared my throat, making them look at me. "Go ahead, hug all you want like I'm not even here." But they just laughed.
"I have to go, princess, or I'll miss my flight." A flight? He's leaving? Good. Hopefully, he won't come back.
"Take care, Prince."
"I will, princess." He cupped Hailey's face and then looked at me. "Don't get too comfortable, Phoenix. I may be leaving, but that doesn't mean what I said before is void. I'm still here for my princess. For now, I'll leave her in your care, but if you ever slip up and let her go, I'll take her from you."
"That won't happen. I'll make sure I don't slip up, and if I do, I'll hold on to her even tighter."
"Mean it, because I may not be around physically, but I'm always watching over my princess."
"Oh, come on, Prince. You might miss your flight. Take care."
Once Enrique left, I sighed deeply. I knew he liked my wife, but I also knew he was genuinely happy seeing her happy. Well, too bad for him because my wife loves me. And even if she didn't, I would make sure she would. Luckily, I don't have to do that anymore.
"That's not fair," I said, placing my hand on Hailey's belly. "Daddy's feeling left out, baby. Mommy has a prince, and she's the princess. But mommy and Uncle Enrique have endearments, while we don't."
"We do," she said, surprising me. "When we were kids, baby, I used to call daddy 'Nix,' and he called me 'Hail.'"
"Hailey..."
"But he told me, baby, that when we got married, he'd call me 'Mommy Hail,' and he'd be 'Daddy Nix.'" I laughed at what she said. I remembered telling her I'd marry her when we grew up.
"You still remember that?" I asked.
"I never forget anything when it comes to you, Nix. I also remember how you stole a kiss from me once when I was pretending to be asleep. It was Christmas, and you were mad at me because I got a cellphone as a gift, and you didn't. I heard what you said before you kissed me."
Damn! I felt like I wanted the ground to swallow me up.
"You said, 'You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. If I give my first kiss, I want it to be with you.' And then you kissed me."
"Hailey..."
"I knew you loved me even back then. You were just in denial because you were jealous. I'm sorry for pushing you away. I was scared that you'd leave me if you found out I couldn't get pregnant."
I was speechless. I couldn't believe she remembered everything about me. She observed me, not to use it against me but because she loved me, and every moment mattered to her.
"Phoenix, don't hurt me again, okay?"
"Never, My Hail. I promise."
"I'll give you lots of kids like you dreamed of when we were young. I'll make all your dreams of having a family come true. You'll have a good wife, a caring mother to your children, and lots of kids. I'll be an understanding, supportive, and lovable light of our home. I'll be your ally, your rock, and the first to love you, Nix."
"Hailey..." I couldn't stop the tears from falling. I was such an idiot for hurting her before. Thank God she didn't leave me, or I'd be the biggest fool if she ended up with someone else.
"Just no leaving, Phoenix. You, me, and baby."
"No leaving. That will never happen. I'm the luckiest guy in the world because you're my wife. The one who truly loves me. I love you so damn much, Hail."
"I love you more and more, Nix. You're my first, and you'll be my last."
I pulled her close and kissed her on the lips. When I pulled away, she held my face.
"Come on, let's have sex." Damn! Fuck, why do I get shy when she says that?
"Hail..."
"You're blushing."
"Fuck..."
"Are you cursing at me?"
"No, fuck me because..." I couldn't finish my sentence.
She leaned in close and whispered, "Because your dick's hard." Then she laughed and left me speechless. "I'm going to the bedroom. If you don't follow me, I'll lock the door!"
Fuck, it seems like my wife took over my libido. Well, that's fine with me because I'm the one who's going to enjoy it.
