Present Day

"Thank you all for coming, it is with great joy that I announce that the killer that had caused us our peace and stole our joy will be tortured for a week straight before her public execution," King Volker announced earning cheers from his people.

General Pricha's heart sank with the King's announcement. He knew he had to get over her but he just couldn't. She's a killer! His mind screamed at him but some delusional part of his brain felt like he was mistaken and she was innocent. Try as he might he still felt uneasy with everything. Who would blame him, he once thought himself in love with her.

"And in other good news I will be officially handing over the throne to my son," King Volker continued. There was loud cheering and he smiled to himself, pride overtaking his features. He was proud of how far he had come as King over this great kingdom, he was proud that his people were now safe, most of all he was proud of his son who was going to take over from him.

"People of this great kingdom behold your next ruler," he said the exact moment an arrow cut across the room with impeccable precision and pierced right through the heart of the Prince, sending him to his knees. Another one almost immediately pierced his forehead causing the kneeling prince to crumble in a pool of his own blood. Zenobia who was sitting beside him let out an ear piercing scream as two more arrows found themselves on her hand.

Terrified screams filled the air and brave eyes traced the arrow to a tall skinny man with a mask on his face while the others ran helter skelter.

"Good riddance," he said despicably.

"My, my don't act so shocked your highness, it is what he deserves." He said to King Volker who was frozen to a spot.

"You and I know he is a shallow conceited pig with no good plans for our dear kingdom, and he's a bloody liar too!" He snickered.

"Guards! Seize him!" King Volker commanded. The palace guards hurried to do his bidding.

King Volker knelt before his now lifeless son, shaking him in hopes to revive him. Tears filled his eyes but he refused to let them fall. He was the head of the entire kingdom, it would be a shame if he let even as much as a drop of tears drop from his eyes.

"You are all dumb," he said, "I am the killer, the one responsible for all the murders, I wrote the letters, I poisoned them not that poor child you torture."

"Remove the mask from his face," King Volker ordered, "I want to see the face of the man behind the death of my son and others before him."

The guards did as they were commanded and heavens were they not prepared to see the face that hid behind the mask.
