It had been a couple days since I went out with the girls. Chase had done his research and found that the library had a comic book fan group that met every Saturday with kids his age and I was happy. I dropped him off and decided to take Rascal to the dog park down the street from the library. Once I walked in the fenced in area I let him off his leash and he went and started running with a dog that were there.
"Fancy seeing you here." I heard a voice say and I looked to see Carly sitting on a bench.
"Oh hey." I said joining her.
"Your dog is adorable." Carly said and I smiled and rolled my eyes.
"Yeah he is supposed to be Chase's dog but he loves me the most." I said and she laughed.
"Which one is yours?" I asked and she shook her head.
"Not mine, my brothers, he is out of town so I am watching him. It's actually the brown and white one Rascal is playing with. His name is Dodger." Carly said and I smiled looked.
"He is adorable." I said and Carly said.
"And he knows it so he is spoiled." Carly said and I laughed.
"That's Rascal too. Although my husband was the one who spoiled him the most." I said and Carly smiled.
"You never said the other night, how long has it been?" Carly asked and I sighed.
"Almost a year, reason we left New York. When it happened last summer Chase was about to start school and I didn't want to disrupt him and move so we stayed until this summer." I said and Carly nodded.
"Couldn't have been easy." Carly said and I shook my head.
"No it wasn't, I mean memories everywhere we went. Getting all the sympathetic looks from friends and neighbors. Changes are good and this one was needed and good so far." I said and Carly nodded.
"Thanks again for the other night I had a great time." I said and she nodded.
"No problem, we all want to do it again. Maybe my brother will even be in town next time and you can meet some more people." Carly said and I smiled.
"Yeah maybe." I said and Carly smiled.
"So no Chase today?" Carly asked and I shook my head.
"The library had a comic book club for kids his age and since he is new in town and obsessed with comic books I figured it was perfect for him to go and meet some kids." I said and Carly nodded.
"Who is his favorite?" Carly asked and I laughed.
"Anything Marvel usually but Captain America is his favorite." I said and Carly laughed.
"Chris Evans or just Captain America?" Carly asked.
"Oh Chris Evans for sure. He loves him, I know nothing about the dude except he is from here." I said and Carly nodded.
"Yeah, seen him around once or twice, nice guy. He seems stuck up sometimes but he is just super private but if you ever see him out and Chase wants to approach him, he is approachable even if he doesn't look it." Carly said and I nodded.
"Good to know. You know from experience?" I asked and she nodded.
"Yeah." Carly said and I smiled. I hung out with Carly a little longer and then got Rascal back on his leash and headed out of the park. I got in the car and started to head to the library to pick up Chase. As I sat in the car I got on my phone and noticed the date as my eyes filled with tears, I had forgot what day it was.
*****FLASHBACK, 15 YEARS AGO*****
"So this is the song?" I asked Wade and he nodded as it played.
"It was the song playing when we met, it was our first slow dance song, our first make out session and it played while we had sex when Chase was conceived. If we don't pick this song it would feel wrong." Wade said and I laughed.
"Look how sentimental you are being." I said and Wade smiled.
"I get one marriage and one first dance as your husband with you as my wife." Wade said and I smiled. He went to our stereo in our room and started the song over from the start. Once it started playing he walked over to me sitting on the bed and extended his hand.
"Time to practice that first dance." Wade said and I giggled but got up and wrapped my arms around his neck and he put his arms around my waist interlocking his hands on my lower back.
"I love you." Wade said and passionately kissed me as the song played.

By the time the chorus played I was in full blown tears. It was my wedding anniversary and the radio was playing our wedding song. The next verse played.

I knew it was a sign from Wade. I saw Chase come walking out of the library exchanging information and talking with some of the kids. I quickly wiped my tears away and made myself look a little less mental. Once Chase got in the car I smiled at him as he loved on Rascal for a minute.
"Mom?" Chase asked concerned seeing I was crying I turned the radio off.
"I'm okay." I said and he sighed. I pulled out of the parking lot and Chase looked at his phone. I heard him groan which meant he had just figured it out.
"Mom...." Chase said and I sighed.
"Yeah bud?" I asked.
"I know what today is. Are you okay?" Chase asked and I nodded and smiled at him.
"Yeah Chase, I'm fine. It's the first anniversary without him here but it's not the first time that happened since he was usually working." I said with a smile.
"Tell me about the comic book group?" I asked changing the subject and Chase noticed and just smiled.
"It was amazing mom! I met some cools we are going to try and get together soon and get to the local comic bookstore, they want to show it to me." Chase said and I smiled.
"Sounds great." I said and smiled.
"How about when we get home we go for a swim and then I cook some burgers on the grill for us, even one for Rascal." I said and Chase smiled.
"That sounds amazing mom." Chase said.

That night when I walked into my room I looked at the picture I had of me and Wade beside the bed. I smiled at him in the picture.
"It would have been 15 years this year. Thats the crystal anniversary." I said and then huffed a laugh.
"I can hear your smart ass now asking if I got you a girl named Crystal for the night because you were a jackass like that." I said with a smile. I then started crying.
"I miss you Wade. I got your sign today with the song. I need to know what you want for me. Are you trying to tell me it's okay to move on and be happy? Do you want me to mourn forever? What do you want from me?" I asked very confused. I just sighed and laid in bed.
"I love you, happy anniversary." I said and drifted off to sleep.
