It has been a couple of hours since we had been at the park and I was getting hungry. "Guys, does anyone need any food? I'm starving." I asked. "Yeah, we should probably go get some food," Ponyboy said. We went to a place called 'Dairy Queen'. I have never heard of that place ever in my life. Maybe it is because I lived in a city where there were only fancy restaurants. We all walked to the Dairy Queen and ordered some food. I got a burger and a shake while everyone was getting way more than me. Is it because I'm a girl and I only eat small amounts of food? Well, I offered to pay for all of it because I knew that they might not have much money. "Sophia, you don't have to pay for literally everything," Dally said. "Well, I don't need this money that much so I would be glad to spend it on you guys," I said, taking a bite into my burger. "Well, this time we will be paying for ourselves, we don't need your money." I heard Dally say. "Well, okay whatever makes you guys happy," I said. I finished my food pretty quickly or at least faster than all of them. After we finished eating we went shopping for the last items and headed over to Ponyboy's house. "Okay so I am going to go check if Darry is here and tell him that you are staying with us," Ponyboy said. "Okay, Ponyboy," I said. I crossed my fingers and hoped I could. I am tired of living with my parents. I hate them with all my heart. I wish I had friends that would take me under their wing and keep me safe. Three minutes had passed and I was losing hope. Suddenly Ponyboy came out with a huge smile on his face. "Was he there and if he was, what did he say?" I said hurriedly. " Darry said you could crash here anytime," Ponyboy said. Wow, finally I have some friends to help me out. I suddenly felt a sharp pain right in the back of my head. The last thing I knew was that I was falling to the ground. All I saw was black. I didn't know what had happened. When I awoke, everyone was sitting around the room. I was lying down on a couch. I shuffled my body so that I was sitting up. "Where am I?" I asked while rubbing my head. " Sophie you're awake!"Two-bit said. "Yeah, I am awake, What happened to me," I said. " You passed out when Darry said you could crash here anytime," Ponyboy said. "Well, now she is going to have to stay here longer," Darry said. "Does your head hurt?" Johnny asked. How thoughtful of him. "No, it doesn't hurt that much, just like a tiny hint of pain.I'm pretty sure it is just my lack of water."I answered. I smelled some sort of food. "That's good to know we were all thinking that you had died but Ponyboy here said you were alive since you had a pulse."Steve said. "Well, I am really hungry right now. How long was I passed out." I said checking my watch. "About Three or Four hours." Soda said. I got hit by the smell of something burning. "Uh, guys something's burning," I said. Darry got up and ran to the kitchen. I could hear him cursing from the living room. Well, I know who was trying to cook now. I got up from my seat and walked into the kitchen. Smoke was everywhere. I went over to the window and opened it letting all of the smoke out. I grabbed a towel started to try to clear the smoke out. It worked all the smoke was out and my hair somewhat smelled like a campfire. "Thanks, Sophie for helping." Darry said. " No problem, at my Ex's place he would try and cook but he would end up burning something and filling his whole apartment with smoke. I would have to open all the windows and started getting the smoke out of the house." I said folding up the towel I had used. "I need help keeping track of time." Darry said. " I could help you cook if you need me to." I said. "That would be wonderful but I can do it myself." Darry said while grabbing stuff. " Oh, okay," I said sadly. I liked to help people cook with them. I walked back out into the living room. Two-bit was sitting on the floor in front of the television watching Mickey, which I thought was weird for a grown man to watch but whatever he likes. I sat down on the couch next to Soda and Steve. I felt safe around the gang even though it has been like two days since we have all become friends. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw my little sister. I don't like seeing things like this because they make me emotional. I got up quickly and ran out on the brink of crying. I have no clue why I ran out of the house but anyways I was emotional. Everyone looked out at me and quickly got up but they were too slow. I had run about three blocks. My vision got blurry so I had to stop somewhere. The park was nearest to where I was so I ran into the park and climbed the tree I was in earlier today. I couldn't help but cry my eyes and heart out. I missed her so much.
