"That was a wonderful presentation with amazing ideas," Siddharth appreciated shaking hands with Mr. Knight.
"Thanks, Sid. I'm sure your actual designs will appear far better," Mr. Knight complimented. He has some ideas on automating some machines, and who else can impress him! He rang Siddharth for a meeting.
"We'll do our best," Siddharth smiled, examining the documents.
"It's a pleasure working with you, Mr. Malhotra," Mr. Knight complimented.
"Same here. How's your new project of the year going?" Siddharth questioned casually, covering his anxiety.
"It's doing great. I made the best decision by giving it a chance," Mr. Knight replied. Siddharth sighed in relief, knowing Avni's project was doing well.
His thoughts drifted to the morning incident while he adjusted his seat belt. The tears brimming through her hazel blue orbs and the pain she underwent hearing his harsh words pricked him.
Initially, when Avni spoke of fasting, he didn't like the idea. She had to remain hungry for the entire day, and it didn't go well with him. Even her smallest of troubles seem tremendous to him. He was angry with himself for being helpless. He tried convincing her to eat, but his wife is one stubborn kid!
"Fasting for a day won't kill me," The words reverberated in his ears. How could he hear such words from the woman he loved immensely! She didn't do right by speaking those words.
"Your life and your decision," Siddharth accidentally uttered those words in fury. He is a patient man who analyzes the situation before speaking. But when it came to Avni, he lost it all. She has that power to bring out emotions in him that he never knew he could feel.
He suggested she be home, and when she denied it, he lost it all and behaved badly.
--
Avni sucked in a deep breath and peacefully recalled the incident. Her husband loves her immensely and cannot remain angry with her for long.
After thinking for long enough, she realized her mistake. He obviously wouldn't encourage her to fast. The words she uttered pissed him off, adding fuel to the fire --Fasting for a day won't kill me.
Should she feel happy or sad about it? The man who always remains calm loses his control around her. He is becoming very sensitive to issues involving her. She smiled, realizing.
"Pour the hot coffee over her," Noah texted on the group.
"Nope. Too violent," Avni replied. She would annoy Scarlett but wouldn't take such a drastic step. It's against her values.
"Put salt in her coffee," Brett advised and tagged Caro. Caro did that once, and he never asked her for coffee again. They laugh, remembering it.
"That goes easy," Caro dismissed the idea.
"Here's a mind-blowing idea! Pour nail polish into her coffee. There won't be any change in taste, and the results are worth it," Mike replied, taking pride in his brilliant head.
"Huh? What will that do!" Avni's mouth twisted in disapproval.
"Best idea. Try it and see the results yourself, cupcake," Caro approved, and everyone agreed.
"Never knew you're this smart," Noah teased, tagging Mike.
"Result of having flings. My ex tried it on me," Mike pitied himself.
Avni forgot the morning incident involving herself in their hilarious conversation. She mixed the nail polish that's luckily in her handbag and handed over the coffee to Scarlett.
