45. Girls' time

"Good morning, Mr. Malhotra," Santosh greeted, entering Siddharth's cabin.

"Good morning," Siddharth responded, continuing to type on his laptop.

"My sincere apologies for this short notice. Please accept my resignation," Santosh spoke, placing the envelope on his desk.

"I assume you have gone through the offer letter terms & conditions," Siddharth reminded in a flat tone, going through his resignation.

"Yes, Mr. Malhotra. I shall pay back my two-month salary. Please relieve me immediately," Santosh requested, choosing his option.

"I will get back to you by tomorrow, Mr. Kiran," Siddharth dismissed Santosh and continued his work.

"Not this," Avni rejected as Caro tried on a green saree.

"This is so light and simple," Caro exclaimed in surprise, trying on another silk saree from the store.

"Haha! It's not easy to look sexy," Avni chuckled at Caro's state. She tried hard to carry the pallu while the pleats were everywhere.

"Take slow and small steps," Avni guided, adjusting her saree.

"Truth be said, I never felt sexy while I'm all covered," Caro admitted in awe of her reflection in a full-length mirror.

"Saree accentuates the right features, and it looks best on any body type," Avni responded in a haze, focusing on another saree on display doll at a distance.

"I think I like this. What say?" Caro snapped, bringing Avni out of her thoughts.

"You look great," Avni expressed her opinion. The peach-colored netted saree suited her skin tone and looked good on her.

"And you'll look even better in that white saree," Caro giggled, pointing to the saree that grabbed Avni's attention.

"You think so?" Avni doubted, thinking all over again.

"Sid will love it. Go ahead," Caro encouraged. "Please get me that saree," She ordered the saleswoman nearby.

"Are you sure, Ma'am? That's the most expensive designer saree in the entire store. It's embroidered with diamonds and rubies. Yet, the saree is light as feather and smooth as silk," She explained.

Caro turned to Avni, teasing her. "What do you think, cupcake? There obviously is nothing Sid can't buy," She winked.

"Of course," Avni giggled, gesturing to the saleswoman to get the saree.

"Sid would love this treat," Caro enthusiastically shrieked as Avni tried on the white saree.

"Hey, baby girl," Siddharth greeted as Avni answered the call. "How's your shopping going?"

"I am trying my best to make a small dent in your pocket," Avni giggled, purchasing the saree.

"You wish," Siddharth laughed.

"Bye, hubby. Let's catch up for dinner," Avni shouted as Caro snatched her phone.

"Let me have your wife for today, Sid," Caro spoke into the phone and cut the call.

"Girls," Siddharth rolled his eyes at their enthusiasm for shopping and continued with his work.

"May I come in, Mr. Malhotra?" Scarlett knocked on the door.

"Here's a courier for you. This came in a few days ago," Scarlett explained, placing it on his desk. "I have scheduled all your meetings this week," She continued, desperately trying to catch his attention.
