The bang of a gunshot echos through the cold winter air. A loud yell of agony pierces through the sky with a following thud of a man who collapses onto the ground.

"LUPIN!"

Jigen and Goemon scream in unison, quickly killing off the villains goons and sprinting towards their newly hated target with their faces drawn to be instilled with rage.

The large bulky man laughs manically as he puts his pistol back in its holder. He walks over to Lupin, who heaves heavily on the ground, a bullet sized hole in the left of his chest. Lupin looks up painful daze at the man who shot him, as his breathing pains his chest.

"What a pathetically slow way to die, Lupin" The villain says in such a disappointed tone, despite looking down with his gleeful smile. "Just another shitty partner of the past. Don't worry, I'll make sure your friends meet you in hell."

"Idiot.." Lupin whispers back. Just from his words, a sudden sharp pain amplifies in his chest, causing him to cough sorely. He turns his head, spatting blood on the cold hard street of the silenced city.

The man, strapped with bullets, grenades, and many types of guns pulls out the machine gun on his back. He steps up in which Lupin is directly behind him, and begins to open fire. Goemon and Jigen quickly jump and hide behind some nearby cars as bullets fire, practically mowing down everything in their path. The two grit and sweat in fear and uncertainty, trying to figure out a way to get closer.

Lupin furrowed his brows and shuts his eyes from the sound of the bullets raining. His head pounded as he thinks of a way to get out of this.

A dangerous idea comes to mind.

"Gh..."

Lupin slowly lifts himself up in a sitting position, than to a kneeling one. He holds his chest momentarily, seeing the blood staining his shirt and hands. He then staggers onto his worn out shoes, and carefully creeps his way to the man who shot him.

The crazed man only continues to vibrate with gunfire as Goemon and Jigen deflect and dodge bullets as they come. The two catch glimpses of Lupin sneaking up behind their enemy, unsure of what he can do then.

Their eyes widen as Lupin reaches from under the armpit of their enemy and pickpocket three grenades. He takes out a piece of chewing gum from his back pocket and pops it into his mouth. He chews thoroughly, then disgustingly takes the gum, rips the chewed piece into three separate ones, and sticks each piece to a grenade.

"Lupin..." Jigen stammers to himself.

Lupin pulls all three of the rings and tossed them onto the ground, right next to the enemies feet, perfectly sticking in place. The rain of gunfire halts suddenly, the man turning his head towards Lupin.

A weary smile crawls onto that thief's monkey face.

"Oh villain! Heh, guess who looks pathetic now?"

"What did you—!?"
The man looks down toward the grenades at his feet. With seconds to spare, Lupin quickly pickpockets the Walter P-38 he was nearly killed with and makes a run for it to the nearest alleyway.

Panting and sweating furiously, he takes one last look behind him to see his enemy point the machine gun at him. He giggles breathlessly as the machine gun does not go off. It was completely out of bullets. Lupin takes a quick glance to see Goemon and Jigen running the opposite direction for cover before he reaches the alleyway as cover as well.
