Lone Wolf

The hour and a half class had finally ended. Mila and Jasper went out in search of their next class. But they didn't make it far. As they were passing the stairs the girl from class cornered them on the platform, alongside the blonde boy.

"What are you doing here?" The girl shouted at the three. The boys cowered back but Mila held her ground against the threatening tone. "What? I'm looking for the canteen-" Rhydian started.

She rolled her eyes. "Not here, on our territory. All of you." Rhydian looked confused. Mila and Jasper shared a look. They knew how protective packs could be of their territory. As much as she didn't want to submit, they were in the wrong. "Don't you know the rules?"

"We're sorry, we didn't know." Mila said, dropping her dominant stance. Maddy sent her a somewhat thankful glance. "You can't stay here." She said, more to the blonde. "If my mom and ad get a sniff f you-"

He scoffed, cutting the girl off. "I don't even know you, or them." He exclaimed. "Exactly." The girl pointed out.

"I don't care whose territory this is, I'm not sticking around anyways. I mean why would I, in this dump? But no smelly girl is going to tell me when to stay or go." He snapped before storming away.

Mila did her best to hold back a laugh. It was clear Rhydian had no idea what she was talking about. Mila assumed he didn't have and most likely had only recently turned.

"Once again, uh, we didn't realize this was anyways territory." Mila told the girl, making her sigh. "It's fine, just get out of here soon. Rules are rules." She said before starting away.

Jasper smiled slightly at the girl attempting to intimidate them. "Hey, do we get a name?" He called after her. "Excuse me?" She snapped, turning back. "I mean you are kicking us out, so you know I think we deserve it."

"It's Maddy." She said back, her tone was harsh but a small smile was on her lips. "You like her." Mila teased as they walked towards their next class. "Shut up." He blushed.

"What are we gonna do?" He asked when they sat down. "What do you mean?" Mila asked. "We can't stay, it's their territory." She sighed. "Try to talk to her." His eyes went wide. "Me?" She chuckled. "Yes you, I want to know more about Rhydian."

Now it was his turn to tease. "Oh, so you like him." She rolled her eyes. "Please, as if. I haven't even spoken to him."

________

Mila was switching her books in her locker when she watched a few boys from her class approach Rhydian's locker.

He pulled a leek stalk out of his locker with an eye roll. "I thought I smelled something funny." Liam laughed. "Is that your lunch Welshy?" Jimi taunted. "I'm not even Welsh." Rhydian said, clenching his fists.

She listened as Rhydian's heartbeat started to increase and instantly panicked. It was clear he was a newly turned wolfblood and probably couldn't keep his anger under control.

Rhydian slammed Jimi to the ground with a growl. His veins started turning black. Once he noticed he jumped off the boy in fear. Mila quickly ran to him as Jeffries approached. "C'mon." She said, pushing him into a room.

"Get away." He shouted at her. "Just breathe, it'll be okay." She said in a calm voice. He shook his head, backing into a shelf. He cried out as everything fell onto him.

He stayed on the ground breathing heavily. "I'm so sorry." He said as his eyes flashed yellow. Seconds later a sandy colored wolf stood in his place.

Mila ran a nervous hand through her hair. What was she supposed to do? She was also new to the school and he had just shifted in a random room. As she tried to step towards Rhydian he growled and started running.
