Chapter Ten
It was all over the papers. Some rich heiress had brought out Smith Corp., and was making a huge change in the company.'NEW HEIRESS BUYS SMITH CORP'
And it made the smile on my face grow wide. I set aside the paper on the huge space of my office desk, and picked up the second one.
'Future Business Princess or Another Failure?'
I frowned and shrugged, they wrote on how I would be another spoiled, unknowing of any business related things, heiress that would go bankrupt. I laughed. They were wrong, and I'll prove them wrong.
Next.
'NICOLE TAYLOR: WHO IS SHE?'
I stiffened and jumped up straight in my seat and read the article in fear. It was the paparazzi, who knew what they could find out?
'Nicole Taylor pops out of no where and buys Smith Corp, the company that's worth billions, and expects nobody to notice her?
There must be more to this story, and we're here to deliver!
Ms. Taylor is daughter of business executive Nicolas Dean Taylor, little is known about Mr. Taylor, as he is as quiet and out of the spotlight as his daughter. Ms. Taylor's mother died of breast cancer when she was six.
Nicole Taylor went to Sliverten Prep High and graduated top of her class at Princeton with a degree in business and finance.
Only the basics of Nicole Taylor, and it's good information, yet nothing bad, yet. Maybe Ms. Taylor will show us all how a business is really run, and prove to us she's not another 'spoiled heiress'.'
I let out the breath I didn't know I was holding in. Just the basics, what I had planted in the media and on my records. I knew I was being paranoid, but I couldn't risk being caught.
A knock frightens me in my chair again, and I jump in surprise. I scuffle around, fixing myself up for whoever is at the door.
"Come in." I yell, when I fix my shirt and hair.
A smug and smirking Kevin stalks into the office.
I smile lightly back, "Yes, Mr. Richards."
He continues to look at me with a high smirk, like he knows something. No. He takes a seat. I start to go into panic mode for no apparent reason.
"Ms. Taylor," He begins, and crosses his arms, "As you may realize, it's nearly a month."
I nod, "And?"
"I want to be Vice President again." He says, "You promised me a month and I'd have my position back."
I shake my head and chuckle, I look back up at him, he's frowning. Oh, he makes me laugh.
"Yes," I begin slowly, "I did, Mr. Richards, but that was if you took my deal, and you didn't."
His face turns red, and he jumps up in anger. "No! That was not the deal!"
I raise my eyebrow at him, "Really? Then please, Mr. Richards, inform me of the conversation we had."
He looks at me angrily. "You told me the deal and I said-" And he stops speaking, looking at the ground angrily.
I nod, "Exactly, Mr. Richards. You didn't take what I offered. It was a great offer, might I add, but since you didn't take-"
"This is bullshit! I worked to damn hard to get where I was! I worked every night! From morning to midnight! And you think you can just waltz in here and take it all away from me!?" He shouts, and strides towards me with the scariest face of angry I've ever seen.
