~Chapter 23~

The cold wind blew our hair as I glared at her with bloodlust. I took off my mask, throwing it aside. I step closer towards her when she starts speaking

"I figured, saw your buddies tattoes...and yours of course" The detective said as she took a step back. I touch the back of my neck, remembering the Bonten tattoo

I quickly made my way closer to her, although she only stayed still as our distance grew closer

"I have no time to play with you" She said, turning around and went into the maze garden. I immediately stop, unsure if I should go in or not

'You sneaky little...' I just decide to throw away my doubts and make a breakthrough inside to chase after her

"My queen!" I heard Ran's voice called behind me, but it was too late as I was already in the maze.

As soon as I made my first turn, I saw a glimpse of red dress vanishing to the right. I immediately followed it, but even after many turns I couldn't get to her until I couldn't see her anymore.

Feeling lost, I tried to find my way out as I ran out of breath from running and my mind became dizzy.

I went to the left, hoping to find the exit when I accidentally collide into someone. Before my back could hit the ground from the impact, the person caught me by the waist

"Be careful, my queen" Kakucho said, lifting me up carefully. I immediately felt relaxed as soon as I saw Kakucho.

"Kakucho? Are you lost too?" I ask, dusting off my dress as Kakucho fixes my messy hair

"Yeah, I saw you coming in here so I had to go in too. But unfortunately, I also got lost" Kakucho said, his tone calm yet disappointed.

"What now?" I look around, not sure what to do as Kakucho took of his blazer and wrapped it around me.

"Let's just try to find our way out of here" Kakucho said, intertwining out hands together. After minutes of turning left and right, we still didn't find any signs of exit

"Did we just go around in a circle?" I ask, tugging Kakucho's sleeve. Kakucho freed my hand and look around, observing our surroundings

"How do you know that?" Kakucho stared at me, trying to figure out how I must've noticed

"See this particular rose? So far I haven't seen a white rose besides this one" I said, pointing at the white rose that stood out out of all the red roses

Kakucho nodded as he touched the white rose petal. Just then, a rustle came from the bush behind him. We both turn right away to the sound

"Make a move and I'll shoot her..." The detective's gun, pointed at me as she stare at Kakucho

Kakucho's eyes widen, but became dark in a matter of seconds. The detective gestured Kakucho to move away from me, Kakucho click his tongue but decide to do it

"Not if I kill you first little miss" Ran's voice was suddenly heard from behind her. I stood still at my spot, not feeling any emotions whatsoever

The detective's eyes widen in fear and hesitation as the muzzle of the gun made contact with the back of her head.

"Drop the gun will you?" Ran smile, yet his voice sounded sinister. The detective stayed silent as her hand gripped harder onto the gun

"Better not do anything reckless" Rindou said, appearing out of nowhere with a loaded weapon already pointing at her direction

Seconds later, Sanzu suddenly appeared behind Ran with a...katana? And a white haired male was following him.

"Did I miss anything?" Sanzu peeked from behind Ran as he cuts the bushes nearby with his katana
