Sophie

Oralie held up the cache and whispered, "Stellarlune."

It started to glow and then it split open, and an image like a hologram came out of all of the Councillors sitting at a table.

Terik's voice was saying, "It's a powerful substance, but it's dangerous."

Then Sophie heard Oralie's voice. "So you think it was used on you?"

The other Councillor nodded. "I was an Empath, but I have a blank space in my memory, and after that, I was a Descryer. Nothing is powerful enough to change someone's abilities except Stellarlune."

Then they heard Bronte, saying, "If this information gets out, many people will try to attain this power. Think of how many elves would want to change their abilities, or how many Talentless would want to get one."

Then Kendric spoke up. "Why shouldn't they? It would make the Lost Cities more powerful as a whole."

Many of the Councillors turned to Bronte, to see what he would say to that.

He sighed and said, "It's difficult. Stellarlune is very dangerous and can be lethal if used incorrectly. There are horrible elves out there who would use this as an advantage and try to hurt others with it."

Emery added, "He's right. We can't give them that option."

Terik said, "We must lock this away in our caches. This secret is not safe otherwise."

All of the other Councillors agreed and the hologram faded away.

Just then, her Imparter buzzed and Fitz's face appeared on the screen.

"Sophie, you have to come. Keefe's mind is broken!"
