Keefe

He felt lots of emotions emanating from her.

Love, hope, nervousness, and... guilt?

Then his heart plummeted.

Fitz.

"I'm sorry, I-" Keefe began, but Sophie cut him off.

"What do you have to be sorry for?" she asked, confusion joining the wave of emotions.

He sighed. "Fitz is my best friend," he paused, as shock appeared in her emotions, but continued just as quickly. "And I just told his girlfriend that I love her."

At first, Sophie's feeling of guilt grew stronger, but then she burst out laughing.

"Keefe," she said, trying to stop laughing. "Fitz and I are just friends. A lot happened while you were asleep."

Then the feeling of guilt strengthened by extraordinary numbers and Sophie's laugh dyed out.

"Hey, hey, Foster," he reached out to her but it only made it worse. The feeling of guilt was at the breaking point.

He grabbed Sophie's shoulders and waited for her to look him in the eyes, before saying, "Please, talk to me."

She sobbed and fell into his arms; tears falling on to his cape. "Fitz wasn't the one to break up with me." She said. "I told him I wasn't ready for a boyfriend, but he still held on."

Keefe nodded, not altogether sure where she was going with this.

Sophie took a deep breath before saying, "He came in while I was healing you and read my mind."

After a minute it dawned on him.

Fitz had heard Sophie tell him she loved him. And he saw Keefe wake up because of it.
