"Wake up, wake up!"

The voice sounded so distant, but she knew it was closer than it seemed.

Could she really be broken? And if she was, how was she supposed to wake up?

She couldn't heal herself, could she? Pondering these things made her head hurt, especially with all of the strain she was already under.

"Connor, she must have really hit her head really hard. Bring me a wet rag."

The voice sounded familiar, yet she couldn't put her finger on it and her head throbbed like crazy.

"Mom, Dad, what are you doing?"

"Not now, Natalie."

Natalie, Natalie, Natalie, Amy. Her sister was out there, and her parents were, too. They wouldn't recognize her, but Amy would.

She decided she would try to wake up. She had to.

She channeled all of the feelings of love that she had inside, for Grady and Edaline, Keefe, all of her other friends, and Amy. She concentrated on her own consciousness and pushed the emotions through her veins.

She felt that familiar warmth rushing into her brain and, after a second, she opened her eyes.

Her head throbbed and she put her hands to her temples, wincing from the pain.

"It's okay child, that mean magician can't hurt you here."

Her mother's voice felt as kind and soothing as ever and she realized that Fitz must have looked like a magician to them because they'd never seen someone light leap before.

Amy's eyes bugged out of her head and it was obvious that she recognized her older sister.

The moment she saw Sophie look at her, she started asking, "How did you get here? What happened? Are you okay? How did you get that nasty cut on your head-" but her mother cut her off.

"Natalie, calm down. I'm sure this girl is tired and needs her rest. Please take her to your room and let her sleep. We can ask questions tomorrow."

When they got to the room, Sophie entered her sister's consciousness and showed her everything.
