Every cell in Theo's body itched to crawl into his bed next to Lyra and hold her all night.
She looked so beautiful lying there- her soft petal lips slightly parted allowing for gentle breaths to pass through, her glowing blonde hair draped around her shoulders, her hands tucked under the pillow, her knees curled up into her body.
He wanted her so badly it hurt.
But he knew he couldn't have her, not that night.
Theo wasn't sure exactly what had been in Lyra's drink but he had tasted the telling bitter trace of some sort of lust potion on her lips when he had kissed her. Like many potions of its sort the concoction would have tasted amazing to Lyra, reminding her of things she loved and craved. But the aftertaste was as sour as a spoiled pumpkin juice, and Lyra's mouth would be coated with the taste in the morning when the potion wore off.
He was desperate for Lyra but not desperate enough to take advantage of her while she was under the influence. He already felt guilty for the kiss alone- if he had known he never would have done it. If he had realized sooner that the only way she would want him was if she had been magically charmed.
With one last look at the witch sleeping in front of him, he pushed himself away and headed to his dresser to put space between them. He grabbed a clean t-shirt and unbuttoned the one he was wearing. He tried not to think about Lyra's fingers on his chest as he undid each button, his cock strained in his trousers, he took a shaky breath. As he tossed the dirty shirt into his hamper he heard the familiar steps of his dorm-mate approach the door.
With quick keeper reflexes Theo grabbed the handle before Blaise could open it. Theo had hoped that Blaise had chosen to leave him and Lyra alone and head to Draco's dorm for the night.
Draco's father had paid extra to get him a single dorm that year but he was always more than happy to let his friends crash on the sofa. Most of the time it was Blaise who occupied the sofa while Theo entertained witches back in their dorm but there were a few times where Theo spent nights there.
This year had been different though.
After Theo had seen Lyra on the train platform before they went back to Hogwarts he hadn't been able to get her out of his head. She had always been a cute witch, not to mention incredibly sweet- but on that platform she was completely transformed.
It wasn't the change in her appearance that Theo had noticed, it was the way she carried herself with her shoulders drawn back and her chest- an extremely nice one in Theo's humble opinion- puffed out. It was the new spark in her eye, begging for adventure and excitement. She was ready for life and Theo wanted to be the one to introduce her to it.
But it had been blatantly obvious Lyra wanted Blaise.
And it was almost more obvious that Blaise wanted her.
Theo could see the way he acted around her, the shift in his energy and the hardness of his gaze. Draco could see it too but Theo believed he chose to ignore it and live in his own bubble of oblivion.
If it weren't for his own feelings for Lyra he would have thought the way Blaise and Lyra scampered around each other was comical. He would have teased his mate about the way they took turns glancing at each other from the corners of their eyes whenever they were together. But it just hurt Theo to see Lyra shatter every time she thought Blaise couldn't care less about her.
