A field of flowers. Soft petals tickle my rosy cheeks. A sigh echoes through out the trees. Your hand reaches out from beyond the branches. I can see you, but my arms won't reach. Trying to step forward only brings me backwards. A rope is pulling towards the now empty field. Your shadow is all I see as the sun sets. The clouds fill the empty sky as my vision darkens. Where did you go?
The space between. Vast and still growing. Try as we must to fill it, but it only deepens. Hesitant. You pull back. I jump, hoping you'll catch me. Darkness. Your light shines not bright enough for me. Falling. Endlessly falling. Waiting for your embrace. But the day never comes. The darkness never leaves. I'm somewhere at the bottom. Stumbling to an fro. Not knowing which way to go. Where are you? Where are your arms to hold me? Where is your light to show me home?
I feel the world falling away. The earth beneath me turns into air. As if I'm up in the clouds. Roaming here and there. Lost, but knowing where home is. Who home is. Their voice always leads me back after my trip around my vast mind. Yet you are not there. In all the space and silence, you are missing. As if you don't exist at all. Where are you? How can I reach you from here? Is it too far? Or too close? Am I holding too tightly? Or not tight enough? Where are you? Where are we? Endlessly lost and wandering through our lives? Or just trying to come home to each other? The world exists and I feel it beneath me. Calm and certain. You're there, but far away still. I can't hold onto you. Please stay.
