Scenario #1: (OC) and (Crush) screwed up. Somehow. Honestly I'm running low on ideas. And they appear in the past to when their families were either still around, normal, or just getting started, and they get a chance to meet them.
Scenario #2; (OC) and (Crush) still screw up, but they get to meet their younger selves.
