"Lo... hel... hello! HELLO!"

Waking up with an abrupt start, he suddenly lurched himself forward in alarm, unaware of any living being around him with the sole exception of, well, himself.

"Who-?! Wha-?!" He stammered, turning his head around frantically to look at the source of the voice, only to hear a loud snort, followed by loud, booming laughter coming from behind him.

"Ahahahahaha! You've really changed, ————! You would've just jolted a bit before turning around with the most nonchalant face in the damn multiverse- but here you are, completely changed and different-" The voice wheezed out, a word they uttered suddenly turned unintelligible to him before they seemed to have caught themself, clearing their throat before continuing to talk.

"Whoops! Luckily I cast self-censoring on myself there, almost blurted out your real name! I can't have you knowing it yet, what's the fun in that?"

Widening his eye sockets, he abruptly looked up at the never-ending white 'ceiling' of the area he stayed in, a sharp glare directed toward the invisible being within earshot.

"So you're the one who smudged out my name..."

"Ding-ding-ding! We have a winner!" They yelled out loud, the empty space only serving to echo the cheerful announcement and served to irk him even further.

"I am not a toy or a game you can play around with!" He yelled angrily, a feeling of vexation and frustration bubbling up within him at how nonchalant the unknown being was to his circumstances. As the yell seemingly shut the unknown being up for a moment there, his relief and pride was short-lived as their voice became glaringly ominous.

"Oh I don't think you know what kind of situation you're in, bud. I may be the only chance you have of getting out of this damn wasteland. Unless you'd like me to abandon you here with or without your memories?" They growled, almost animalistically, causing him to flinch violently.

But again, just as if they could see his frightened reactions, they quickly caught themself, and returned to the chirpy tone they used prior.

"Ah, but please don't misunderstand! I have no intentions with toying around with your life, or your emotions. Though I can't exactly say the same with your memories..." They giggled, "it's interesting to see the mystery get unveiled by you, y'know?"

"You're talking as if you know what happened."

"Oh, but I do!" They said, before a disturbance in the air caused his body to instinctively react. Something- no, someone evoked something- something inside of him to give this reaction.

It felt so, so familiar... and not in a good way.

And yet, he would love nothing more than to learn of what this feeling is.

As the area in front of him glitched and churned, the endless white finally being replaced with squares of red and blue, a pale hand was thrust out of the arrangement of squares, forcing him to scramble backward out of suspicion.

"Hoho! Never thought I'd be back here but here we are!" A purple-haired human, a little over his height, stepped out of the square portal. Clad in completely white, the only exception to their color palette was the purple diamond sewn onto their cloak.

"You- you saw everything! Didn't you?! Tell me what happened, now!" He yelled at the being, standing up and roughly grabbing their cloak while glaring at them.

"Ahaha, I say that, but I didn't even see anyone. I just heard of it from some of the survivors from the first wave of attacks." The being laughed lightheartedly while he shook them roughly, just raising their hands in mock surrender and completely turning a blind eye to the fact that all the letters were implying that something, or rather, a group of someone was the one behind the erasure of this place.

"Oh? Then spill."

"I only know just about as much as you do- people suddenly materializing and attacking the AU's in the multiverse, with the protectors and destroyer nowhere in sight to save the civilians! How cruel, isn't it?"

"... The- the first letter... it said they couldn't fight back."

"Hmmm? Well, that's interesting! I didn't know." They replied, the confusion in their tone starting to confuse him as well. Then... does that mean they know nothing, just like he did?

"You- didn't know?"

"I told you, didn't I? I only heard that hordes of people came out of nowhere and started crumbling the AU's in the multiverse with the protector, destroyer, nor bad guys in sight!" They huffed, "did you not hear me, you louse?" They asked, only serving to earn a glare from him before being roughly let go.

"... What's even the point of you speaking to me, anyway? I have no information- I have amnesia, for stars sake." He hissed quietly, "unless you were to whisk me away or something like that, I doubt I have any use to you."

"Oh, but you do!" The entity chimed in, catching him off guard.

"Wha-"

"Just continue reading the letters, and I'll be satisfied! You know there are going to be flashbacks, and you'll learn eventually. All I want is to see it! Come on, hurry up! Here's the next letter so take a seat!" They smiled giddily, creeping the hell out of him, before hesitatingly taking the envelope and opening it. (The entity also took a spot next to him, much to his chagrin, but at this point, he knew better than to enrage his only exit ticket from this barren place)

Looking at the envelope, he couldn't help but think to himself;

'Hopefully these letters are more useful to me than this... person next to me.'
