Destiny works in mysterious ways.
The sea three as they had taken to calling themselves and their princess friend knew that by the time it became clear that none of them were going anywhere until all of their quests had been fulfilled.
And that only became more clear when the others got thrown into the mix.

Harry met Chad, Evie, and Jane when they saved him from a group of men who had decided to take their anger at his father out on him.
In return, he helped them rescue their friend,Doug, from the Evil Queen's castle.

"Are you sure you want to do this? If we get caught, you'll be on the run from her until she dies."
Chad remembered asking as he helped the battered boy slip into the armor they had stolen from a couple of the Evil Queen's knights.
When it had been just the two of them in a cave, as the girls sat by, going over the plan with one another once again to make sure nothing could go wrong before they even thought of telling it to either of them.
He remembered the light of the fire illumating Harry's determined face as he answered.
"Of course I'm sure. You lot saved my life. It's only fair that I return the favor by saving one of yours".

When Harry returned to camp 2 days later-- with four misfits in tow decked out in black armor-- he was accepted back with open arms. As were his companions once Uma and the others were told of just how they met.
They met Mal soon after in a way that made Uma and Harry's meeting look like a smooth one.
Uma had broken one of her prized weapons and had gone out into a nearby village with the others to pick up a new one to replace the old.
And then the group decided to split up to get some other essentials, which proved to be a huge mistake when less than 10 minutes later a dragon spawned out of fricking nowhere and started fighting Uma in her Cecaelia form near the docks over a sword of all things.
Leading Chad to throwing himself in between the two like a Moron and somehow not getting himself killed. Which no one is quite sure how he managed considering how he reacted when the dragon turned back into a (human)?

"No. I just-- how did you do that?! Why would you need a sword when you can just do that instead?!"
"Because I WANT a sword."

And then the girl-- Mal, the Maleficent's daughter-- somehow ended up joining their quest after mentioning that she was on one of her own. One much like Chad's.
To save her sister.
Destiny brought Jay and Carlos their way not long after when Gil caught them stealing from their camp.

"If you need food so badly you could have just asked for it" He said from behind them, causing the other two boys to nearly jump out of their skin at being caught red handed.
"Son of a--"
"Jesus Christ!"

Apparently the two of them had been wandering around together for nearly as long as the sea three. Having met when Jay saved Carlos from a pack of rabid wolves who the younger boy was now deathly afraid of while they were out on their own quests.
Lonnie came next, having revealed herself 3 weeks after the boys had joined their group. After said group had gotten themselves lost in the woods she had been living in for months while on her own solo quest.

"Sure, I can help you find your way out of here. But you have to help me find my mom"
"Why does everyone our age seem to have a fucking quest to do these days?!"

And finally, Ben, the son of the dark one, was the last to join their little rag tag group of misfits.
After a bout of youthful, reckless stupidity that only a group of teenagers could have.
When they stumbled upon Dark One Manor? Castle? And dared Harry to sneak in. Not knowing his father's history with the dark one.
And Harry, not wanting to look like a wuss in front of the first group of friends he had made by himself, agreed despite feeling like pissing himself out of fear.

"Are you gonna go in or just stand there all day?"

And he did do it.
Right threw a window.
Which just so happened to be the ONLY window above the staircase.
Needless to say, Harry managed managed to knock himself out with that one. And when he came to, many hours later, it was to a boy who looked like Bae pressing a cold rag to his bruised and stitched up forehead.
That boy was a sickly Ben who hadn't seen his father in days and his mother in months. A sickly Ben who wanted to free himself of his curse and find his family. A sickly Ben who knew nothing of the outside world and needed help.
Help that Harry and his friends gladly provided, thankful that the boy hadn't killed them when he had the chance.
After that, they spent the next 6 months having a blast. Going on adventures that would surely get them grounded for life if their parents found out. All while trying to fulfill their quests in a timely manner.
All was fine and well until Harry's 15th birthday....
