We finally got by the poolside and fixed our lounge chairs close to the bar. I got comfortable and put on my shades. After a couple minutes of soaking up the sun quietly Blair broke the silence.
"Lexi. I think that guy over there at the bar is checking you out."
"Really?" I was interested because I haven't flirted with a guy in a while in a while and there was a certain rush that I got when that happened.
"Yeah but he's not your type."
"Oh and what exactly is my type?" I asked turning on my side to face her.
"Girls are your type, but correct me if I'm wrong."
Mixed emotions were floating in my brain. I should tell her the truth but then my father might not get the deal and forever hate me which means no penthouse or phone and we can't have that. Or I could laugh it. Off and be miserable for the rest of the time that she's here. Thankfully I didn't have to decide just yet because of the tap on my shoulder. I turned around and found my best friend standing there with two piña-coladas in his hands.
"Mikey! You came." I said getting out of my chair.
"Of course. I couldn't let my favorite person down could I?" He replied holding out a piña-colada to me which I graciously accepted. After a long sip, I introduced Michael to Blair.
"It's a pity she's gay." Michael whispered into my ear. "Cause I would so tap that."
"Well if she turns out not to be gay I'll tell you. You need someone else to bother." I replied.
"Alexis can we please go to the bar. I need a drink." Blair said interrupting our little conversation.
"Yeah sure."
"How can I help you?" the very cute bartender asked us.
"I'll have Sex on the Beach with an extra shot of Vodka please?" Blair asked, shocking all of us including the bartender who's name tag read Ashton. Ashton so that's his name.
"Okay I'll be back in a minute with your drink m'am." Ashton said.
"You don't have to call her m'am she's probably not even older than you." I said under my breath.
"What was that Alexis?" Blair asked giving me a glare that made me think that I would spontaneously combust at any second. Or maybe it was just her eyes that looked like if one was blue and the other hazel in this lighting. Whatever it was it was scary.
"Nothing Blair. Are you hearing things?" I said making Mikey and Ashton snicker. At that moment my phone buzzed.
*Alexis. Bring the client back to the lobby her father is ready for her.*
*Okay.*
"Blair your dad's ready for you."
"Okay" she said apparently in a good mood again, downing the drink before placing the money on the counter and walked off in the direction of the lobby. I followed dragging Michael along just to piss my dad off just a little bit. At the last minute I turned around and gave a little wave to Ashton, which he return with a smile. Yeah! He thinks I'm cute or funny at least. Anyhow I want to get to know him he seems nice. But how can I do that when I'm trying to impress Blair. I need to talk to Michael.****************************************************************************************
"Blair honey had a good time?" Is what we, well Blair was greeted to.
"Yeah. I wanna come back tomorrow if that's okay with you dad." She said.
Please say no, please say no, please say no.
"Of course if it's okay with Alexis."
Crap. "Of course you can come back." I say lying through my teeth.
"Great what time is good for you?"
Never again. "Twelve o'clock."
"Great. Come on dad I wanna go watch 'Lucy'" Blair said dragging her father away. I swear she's bipolar. One minute she wants to bite your head of next minute she's daddy' little girl. Man she's going to be a handful.
"Okay Blair see you tomorrow." I said waving to the back of her red head.
"Good job Alexis." My father said obviously happy and back to my name. "She wants to come back. I'm for sure gonna land this deal."
"Yeah good for you. Now if you excuse me I am going upstairs with Michael." I replied the first part laced with sarcasm.
"Okay go ahead. You two have fun." my father replied shocking me in a way that I couldn't speak for a moment.
"Well he's happy." Michael said taking the words out of my jaw dropped mouth.
"You can say that again."
"Well he's ..."
"Don't say it again.". I said semi-annoyed.
"But you said I could." He whined.
"Michael when you ever learn?" I reply shaking my head at his cuteness.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
"What am I gonna do Michael?" I groaned flopping sown on to my bed face down.
"You mean about the Blair and Ashton situation?"
"Yeah." I said, but it came out muffled due to the 10,000 thread count sheets that were suffocating my brains.
"You should tell her that you're not gay and should go for it with Ashton. Simple." Michael said probably shrugging his shoulders in his carefree manner.
"It's not that simple Mikey." I groaned rolling over.
"Well that's you're problem not mine."
"Yeah but remember when..."
"Yes. I remember. Jeez. I thought you forgot that." Michael said rubbing his hands over his face.
"Good now you have to help me. But first let's order brain food." I say getting off the bed and dragging Michael out of my room and into the living room.
"Pizza right?"
"Yes Mikey. Pizza."
By the time the pizza came we still hadn't come up with anything other than the fact that Orlando Bloom was more attractive as an elf than as a pirate.
"Well that was productive." Michael said dropping the pizza crust into the box.
"Yeah." I replied agreeing with his sarcasm.
"Anyhow. I gotta get home, my mother would want to know where I am." Mikey said going to the door.
"Okay. Go home. Leave me here in my dire time of need. Next time you call me drunk I won't come for you." I reply dramatically with my hand on my forehead and my head thrown back.
"Bye Alexis." Michael said chuckling at my stupidity and leaving me alone with my swirling thoughts, Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp in the background. It didn't take very long for me to fall asleep on the couch in a terrible position since I was to lazy to get up and go to bed. I'M so gonna feel this in the morning.
