Your POV
I smirk to myself, satisfied at the way I left Levi. There is nothing he can do he can't afford to cause a scene. I knew this dress would turn him on, one mission accomplished. Should be interesting to watch him try to hide a hard on whenever he looks at me. If he even takes his eyes off me that is.
That's the only interesting part about this party to me so far. It's not much different than when I was taken to parties when I worked for Laurie. Just a bunch of older men staring at me and measuring each other's dicks. Cool, seen it all before.
I guess Wilhelm's part of the deal is working out for him. He gets stopped every few seconds asking him how he is and where he found me. I pretend to be interested in the conversation and let the men flirt with me so I can keep them happy and talking.
My eyes scan the room and stop when I finally look at the band that is playing slow atmospheric music as people have conversations around them. There's a piano... It's been so long since I've played... Playing the piano is always a good conversation starter if you do it well. 'Hey, you play so well, what are your thoughts on Eldians and Paradis island?' Or something.
I can't just go up to any random person, especially Kiyomi. But, usually when I play the piano and sing, more people take it upon themselves to approach me, just like I did with Krause.
I watch as the people in the band play one more song before they take a break. People around them are too busy chatting to notice anyway, it appears. It's not like anyone is dancing.
"Where are you going, dear?" Wilhelm inquires as he feels me let go of his arm.
"You'll see," I comment over my shoulder as I walk over to the vacant piano, "consider it another conversation starter for you."
No one really takes notice as I walk toward the piano, too busy with their own conversations to care about some random girl getting closer to the vacant instruments.
My fingers brush over the fancy looking piano. It's a polished black piano with a matching bench, so shiny and smooth I thought I may slide right off of it. It has such a fancy glossy finish; how do they even get it to look so fancy? Who has the time?
I can feel curious gazes on me as I sit myself down at the bench. I'm surprised no one has slapped my hands away from the piano, but then I remind myself no one knows I'm Eldian.
As if I'd never taken a break, a song automatically comes to my mind. I close my eyes and feel the music as my fingers dance along the keys. All I can hear is the sweet sounds of the piano and feel the vibrations in my throat as I start to sing. I don't even really know what I'm singing, I just let my body do the work without thinking about it.
I feel warmth spread throughout my body as I play. I don't feel any nervousness as I feel eyes on me. It's just the piano and I, and whatever emotion I feel in the moment.
I continue like this until my voice fades as I reach the end of the song, and my fingers stop moving along the keys. I open my eyes and realize it is dead silent around me, as if everyone in the room has been holding their breath.
I smile shyly and tuck a stray strand of my (h/c) hair behind my ear. Once the shock wears off there is a loud round of applause and people screaming for an encore. I bow slightly away from the bench as Wilhelm meets me at the piano.
"You didn't tell me you could do that!" He says as he places a hand on my back and leads me away from the crowd of people waiting to talk to me.
"I'm a woman of many talents." I say as I grab a glass of wine off a trey.
