Okay, so I don't know how an actual school looks like I'm home schooled and I don't know how this works so please bear with me. On to the story!
Your POV
As we walked in the school, there were a lot of stares--like a lot. I saw emo kids, bullies, fashionistas, sports kids, and a lot more. We walked towards the principle's office and saw a man at the front desk. He looked up and addressed us. "Can I help you?"
"We're the new students, we are here to collect our schedules," Sun-Hee answered him. He looked at us with a frown on his face before give us our schedules.
"Here, I made sure that you all classes with each other courtesy of your mother." We nodded, bowed, and left, using my sharp hearing I heard him mutter 'spoiled children, always have to boss people lower than them around' I shook my head and ignored all of the negative words. I followed my cousins towards the lockers and put the stuff I don't need right now inside. I closed it and headed to our first class, which was math. Hana steered us to an empty table in the middle, we sat and began conversing quietly.
Soon after, the teacher came and told us to quiet down and open our books. As I got to the page I looked around and saw the only other Chinese girl here in class, 'that must be Mei' I thought to myself, I nudge my cousins they looked at me with confusion. I nodded towards Mei and their eyes widen we looked at each other and nod once. We were going to see her after class.
The bell rang and we packed our stuff inside our bags and left. We followed Mei, and what seems to be her friend, out of the class room.
"Hey!" Hana called, Mei and her friend turned their heads as well as some other students. "You're Meilin Lee right?" Mei nodded and we walked towards her.
"I'm Ting Hana this is my younger twin sister Sun-Hee and our cousin Han Xia, we were supposed to meet you and your family at the temple but had to change plans," Hana introduced. Mei had a look of recognization on her face.
"Oh, right, sorry about that I sorta forgot," she apologized. Sun-Hee waved her off.
"Its fine, our mothers only told us that we were supposed to meet later." Mei's friend cleared her throat.
"Hi, my name's Miriam," she introduced and raised her hand for us to shake, which we did. Mei turned her attention to me and shyly waved, ducking her head, I guess I looked a bit intimidating. I relaxed my face and waved back with a small smile.
"HEY! MEI, MIRIAM THERE YOU ARE!!!" A very loud voice screamed. We turned to the direction of the voice and saw a dark-skinned girl with glasses, who in my opinion, looks sorta gothic and emo, a short heavyset Korean girl, and a African-Canadian boy with curly hair, came running to us.
"Hi guys, what's up?" Miriam asked.
"Nothing, Abby wanted to know who you were talking to," the gothic, emo-like girl said.
"Oh, guys this is Hana, Sun-Hee, and Xia, they are part of the family that wanted to see me," Mei said. I looked at the short Korean girl she seemed to bounce on her feet, I could tell she was very energetic--and not by the way she screamed earlier. The bell rang again and they had nervous looks on their faces.
"Crap! We gotta go, um, how about you meet us for lunch?" Mei offered, we nodded and agreed, "great! See you at lunch!" And with that she and the rest of her friends scrambled around to head to class.
"Guess we better get going as well," Sun-Hee mentioned breaking the silence. We sighed and left for class making an excuse saying we got lost on the way.
During Lunch
We sat at the bleachers talking about random stuff not mentioning about the meeting at all. We were just goofing around and in this moment did I truly feel like a teen not somebody who used her powers to help people, not somebody who everybody blames for stealing a power, not somebody who their family hates, I felt free and the only time I felt like this is when I talk to Tae-Tae.
While we were talking, we ended up asking questions about things to get to know about each other better and we ended up asking about our favorite type of music.
"So what type of music do you listen to?" Mei-Mei asked us. Hana and Sun-Hee shrugged.
"We like listing to classic, traditional Chinese music," Sun-Hee answered for them both of them.
"You don't listen to nothing else like hip-hop or rock?" Tyler stated. They shook their head.
"Goodness no, our family would kill us if we did they are very...old-school so we never did get to listen to any of that, but we do have our favorite classicals, though," said Hana. Miriam turned her attention to me.
"What about you?" I shrugged.
"Same I guess, though I do listen to a very popular boy group in my free time and when I'm alone." Hana and Sun-Hee looked surprised and I'm not worried if they're gonna tell because I know that they will have my back.
"Like what?" Priya asked.
"Hip-hop," I answered, sipping on my juice.
"WHAT KIND OF GROUP? AND HOW MANY MEMBERS?" Abby screamed.
"A hip-hop boy group, um, with five members. I remember once looking at a magazine and saw all of them together."
"Is it....4 Town?" Mei-Mei whispered. I was shocked at first, I didn't know they also listened to 4 Town but I remembered what Welin told me, they are super popular and everybody knows them. I nodded and to say that they screamed was an understatement.
"O-M-G!!! WHO'S YOUR FAVORITE MEMBER?! MINE'S ROBAIRE!!" Mei squealed.
"Um...I don't remember all of their names but I do remember Tae Young and that he's my favorite."
"THAT'S MY FAVORITE TOO, GIRL!!" Abby yelled.
"Yeah, everybody but Tyler has a crush on the members, I like Aaron T, Tyler likes Aaron Z, Mei likes Robaire, Priya likes Jesse, and Abby likes Tae Young," Miriam said and was thankfully not screaming, I don't know how much more my ears can take.
I looked at Abby feeling, I don't know, jealous, overprotective, I know it's just a crush but if you mess with a dragon's mate they will fight for them and will do anything to keep them safe.
"I see," I replied slowly. The bell rang again, we picked up our trash and headed towards our next class. And I was thinking about Tae Young on the way.
