Your POV
I woke up feeling refreshed. Honestly, I've never felt happier. I skipped--yes, skipped--to my bathroom and did my morning routine. I changed my clothes and did my makeup.
As I was putting my schoolbooks in my bag, my phone rang. I looked at the ID caller and saw it was my dad.
"Hello?" I answered the phone.
"Xia, how are you? I'm sorry I haven't been able to call sooner but I had important business to attend to," My father apologized.
"Dad! Don't worry, it's fine, I missed you too, how are you?" I asked continuing to proceed with packing my books.
"I'm good, how's your mother and sister treating you?"
"They're...um...treating me the same at home," I mumbled into the phone. My dad sighed.
"I'm sorry, Dragon Flower, I wish I was there with you."
"No, Dad, it's okay I know you're busy with running the kingdom, I'm glad you called," I spoke with sincerity.
"All right whatever you say, Dragon Flower, I have to go, I have a business meeting soon, I love you, stay strong, and I'll see you when you get back," my dad said. I smiled.
"I love you too, Dad, bye."
"Bye." And with that, Dad hanged up. He, besides my cousins and friends, loved and cared for me, he gave me the love I never had, the love my mother could never give me.
But I remembered something, something that I overheard my parents talking about, and that something was me and destiny...and my true mother...
A knock broke me through my thoughts.
"Yes?" I called out.
"Ma'am? It's the maid, if you may, I would like to start cleaning your room." She spoke. I got off my couch and opened my door and gasped quietly.
"Chang-Li!" I gave her a hug, squeezing her tightly, "oh my gosh, I haven't seen you in forever! What happened?" I asked allowing her into my room.
"Xia! I've missed you too, I was just very busy, plus I was visiting my friends and family, which was nice," she said going around my room and picking things up and putting my laundry in a bag.
