The scene cuts to black with dramatic music before it shows a man climbing onto the side of the bridge from where they had hung on. The man is revealed to be Sam as he looks towards the water.
"Where is she?" James kept muttering and Lily was still to scared to look.
"Carter! Dean!" Sam shouts down.
"What?!" Dean hollers back to him as he climbs to the bank.
"Hey, you alright?" Sam asks relieved to have found Dean and Dean throws him an ok symbol with his hand.
"I'm super." Dean says sarcastically covered in mud.
"Hey you see Carter?" Sam asks and Dean starts looking around.
"Please. Please, please." Everyone but the blacks barring Sirius and and malfoys pray.
Just then a short figure stands up in the shallows making their way to the bank making both brothers let out sighs of relief.
There was a collective sigh of relief at that.
"It's alright love, she's ok." James tells his wife and she finally removes her face from his neck to see her muddy daughter coming out of the shallows.
Carter shook her arms trying to dislodge some of the mud caked to her with no luck before looking to Dean annoyed.
"What are you waiting for a written invitation to start the hike back up?" She asks him and he chuckles.
"If you're not careful, I'm gonna throw you back in the lake." Dean says as they start walking back to where they could meet up on the bridge.
"Or he could try 'I'm glad you're not hurt, i love you.'" Remus suggests smirking.
Sam laughs in relief and pulls himself the rest of the way over the bridge.
The scene flashes as the hood of the car closes.
"The car alright?" Sam asks walking toward the hood.
"The car?! The car?! They were all almost killed! Forget about the bloody car!" Molly shrieks and Lily nods in agreement not understanding how the car was more important.
"Yea, whatever she did to it, it seems all right now." Dean tells him as the turn.
"That Constance chick... WHAT A BITCH!" Carter yells at the end covered in mud head to toe.
"Language, young lady." Lily scolds.
"Well, she doesn't want us digging around that's for sure." Sam says as they all sit on the hood of the impala and dean lets put a sigh. "So, where does the trail go from here genius?"
Dean throws his arms in the air and hits them back to his legs in a shrug before trying to flick mud off his hands.
Sam sniffs the air and turned to the 2.
"You 2 smell like a toilet." Sam says turning to face the 2 and Dean looks down in annoyance.
"Wait... Constance... isn't she the girl from the library who killed herself?" Remus asks and Sirius nods his head. "Well then why do they think it was her on the bridge? Might I remind you that muggles can only die once."
"Just add it to all of our growing pile of questions." James muttered as he considered what Remus had said and it made a lot of sense.
The scene change and they were in a lobby carter and dean were still covered in mud as Sam stood behind them.
"One room, please." Dean says tossing down his card that says Hector Aframian.
"You guys having a reunion or something?" the guy behind the desk asks looking from the the card to the 3 people in front of him.
"What do you mean?" Sam asks chuckling.
"That other guy, Bert Aframian, he came in and bought out a room for the whole month." The clerk says and the 3 share a look.
"Yes! They've found him! And he's not dead! He just doesn't know how to answer the phone." Hermione says shaking her head.
Carter is shown picking the lock of the door that her father had rented.
"Really? Is it really so hard to roll your fist and knock? This is the second place she's broken into." Amelia says shaking her head.
Carter enter the room with Sam behind her as Dean stands watch. Carter reaches and pulls Dean in and shuts the door almost making him lose his balance.
The walls were covered in papers and there was stuff everywhere you looked on every surface.
Dean goes and turns on the lamp and sees a half eaten hamburger and he lifts it to his face and sniffs before grimacing.
"There's no way you're that hungry." Carter says shaking her head.
"I don't think he's been here for a couple days, at least." Dean says setting the burger down sending his sister a look.
"Salt, cats eye shells..." Sam mutters picking up a pinch of salt from the ground looking up at them.
"He was worried, trying to keep something from coming in." Carter finished looking at the papers long the walls.
"I don't like this." Lily says and no one could blame her.
"What do you got here?" Sam asks walking up to Dean as he studied the opposite wall to Carter.
"Centennial highway victims." Dean answers looking for the missing connection between the men.
"I don't get, different men, different jobs, ages, ethnicities. There's always a connection, right? What do these guys all have in common?" Carter asks standing beside Dean looking at the victims info posted on the wall.
"Um, I'm still at a blank as to why they are looking into it..." Regulas mutters shaking his head and Sirius nods.
"Me too, bro. Me too." He says just as confused.
Sam walks to another wall and looks at the pages of lore taped up while he turned on the lamp and chuckled.
"Dad figured it out." Sam says making Carter and Dean turn towards him.
"What do you mean?" Dean asks him.
"That's the same question we've been asking since this whole thing started!" Neville exclaims.
"He found the same article wee did." Sam answers looking back at us and points at the wall. "Constance Welch. She's a woman in white."
"I'm afraid I don't understand what the color her clothes have to do with anything. She's dead." Lucious drawls out in a bored tone.
Carter turns back to the victims posted up and shakes her head.
"You sly dogs." she says in a disgusted tone.
"Alright, so if we're dealing with a woman in white dad would have found the corpse and destroyed it." Dean says as he looks between Carter and Sam as Sam continues to look at the article.
"I'm sorry, I just want to make sure I heard that right... did he just say find a corpse?" Sirius asks standing up.
"Oh? Is that the part that threw you? Not the destroying of the corpse? Just finding it?" Remus asks the man in front of him.
"Well... I hadn't gotten that far yet! What on earth would they need to destroy a corpse for?" Sirius asks as he sits back down roughly.
"Not for anything good." James mutters back worried.
"She might have another weakness." Sam mutters.
"No, dad would want to be sure. He'd dig her up." Carter says walking towards Sam. "Does it say where she's buried?"
"No, not that I can tell." Sam says glancing at his sister. "If I were dad though, I'd go ask her husband. If he's still alive."
"Do not go asking her husband where his dead wife is buried! It is completely insensitive!" Molly berates loudly.
"Hmm." Dean mutters looking at the lore. "Alright, why don't you see if you can find an address? We're gonna get cleaned up, you can have first shower Car."
"Hey Dean Car, what I said about you, mom, and dad... I'm sorry." Sam says sincerely making Carter hold up a hand.
"No chick flick moments." Carter says making Sam chuckle.
Many felt sad that Hallie felt she couldn't express her emotions as she had been taught not too.
"Alright, jerks." Sam says nodding.
"Bitches." Dean says with a straight face.
"Dicks." Carter says making the others chuckle before walking into the bathroom to get cleaned up.
"Why are they insulting each other now!" Hermione exclaims.
Sam picks a picture up out of the mirror of a young Sam, Dean, and baby Carter and smiles while he looks at it.
"Dude, you remember this?" Sam asks Dean handing him the picture.
"Yea, of course. Dad took us out to shoot cans at uncle Bobby's. Never had so much fun." Dean says before putting the picture down.
"That looks like our Hallie, that couldn't have been that long after we lost her." Lily says as tears stream down her face.
Carter exits the bathroom free of mud and in new clothes while Dean enters. Carter goes to the free bed and lays in center putting her ear buds in to block out the world.
Sam looks at her for a long moment before pulling out his phone.
'Hey, its me. It's about 10:20 Saturday night. I just..." Jessica's voice says over voicemail before being drowned out by Dean.
At that Arthur started to right yet again on his parchment wondering how his girlfriend was talking to him from so far away.
"Hey man, I'm starving. I'm gonna grab a little something to eat at that diner down the street, you want anything?" Dean asks as he puts his leather jacket on half on.
"No." Sam says with his phone still pressed to his ear.
Dean walked over to Carter and slapped her foot making her look over at him and pull out an earbud.
"Going to get food, you coming?" Dean asks and she nods getting up off the bed to put her shoes on. Dean turns back to Sam. "You sure? Aframian's buying."
"Mm-mm." Sam says shaking his head again.
"Yes, I'm starving!" Ron says loud.
"What else is new?" Hermione asks.
Dean opens the door letting Carter walk out as he followed and put the rest of his jacket on.
Carter spots the cop car with the deputies talking to front desk guy and smacks Deans arm as the man points at them.
Carter turns and pulls out her phone.
"What is happening right now?" Lily asks.
'So come home soon, ok? I love you.' Jessica's message ends only to be replaced with an incoming call.
"What?" Sam answers.
"Dude, 5-0. Take off." Carter tells him facing away from the cops.
"What about you and Dean?" Sam asks moving towards the blinds to look.
"They kinda spotted us, go find dad." Carter says and hangs up turning back around beside Dean.
"Problem officers?" Dean asks shaking his head.
"Where's your partner?" The officer asks Dean before looking at Carter.
"Partner? What... what partner?" Dean asks back.
"Yes, we would very much like to know that as well." Flitwick says.
The cop turns to look at the other cop and motions to the motel room they had just exited and he starts making his way towards it while the other officer stayed with Dean and Carter.
Carter licked her lips as she watched the cop leave as Sam watched from the window.
"What the hell is he still doing there? Get the hell out!" Remus yells.
Sam takes off while it cuts back to Dean and Carter.
"So fake U.S. Marshal, fake credit cards. You have anything that's real?" The cop asks and Dean nods and looks down for a second.
"Her boobs." He nodded towards Carter then smiled at the cop.
"I'm gonna kill him." James says murderously.
Dean gets slammed against the hood of the cop car by the one who stayed with them earlier as the other one holds Carters arm and Dean nods at her.
"Woah, what was that nod?" Regulas asks.
"What do you mean?" Narcissa asks frowning.
"He nodded at her." Regulas points. "Do you thinks its like a kill them both with your thumb nod."
"Probably not. Probably more of a 'do as they say and don't get hurt nod.'" Sirius muses.
"You're probably right, but wouldn't that be something?" Regulas asks with a chuckle.
"Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law." The cop iterates as they tighten the handcuffs.
"So you want to give us your real name?" The sheriff asks walking into the room with Dean.
"I told you. It's Nugent, Ted Nugent." Dean says looking at him.
"But.. his name isn't Ted Nugent..." Ron mutters quietly.
"Obviously." The twins say in unison rolling their eyes.
The sheriff sets down a box in front of Dean.
"I'm not sure you realize just how much trouble you're in here." He tells Dean.
"We talking, like, misdemeanor kind of trouble or uh 'squeal like a pig' trouble?" Dean jokes.
"I don't see what is so funny about the situation." McGonagall says shaking her head.
"You got the faces of 10 missing persons taped to your wall, along with a whole lot of satanic jumbo jumbo." The sheriff says as Dean rubs his hands and looks away and back again. "Boy, you are officially a suspect."
"Well technically their dad had the missing persons taped to the wall.... Not them, if that counts for anything." Tonks says seeing sense.
"I'm not sure that matters." Amelia says shaking her head.
"That makes sense." Dean nodded. "Cause when the first one went missing in '82, I was 3."
"I know you got partners. One of them is an older guy. Maybe he started the whole thing." The sheriff looks into the box as he talks and Dean shrugs. "So tell me Dean... is this his?"
The sheriff throws a leather book between them and Dean stares at it shocked.
"Um... how does he know his name?" Regulas asks only to be ignored.
The sheriff walks around the table and takes a seat on the table next to Dean. "I thought that might be your name."
The sheriff opens the journal and flips through the pages while it sat on the table.
"See, i leafed through this, what little I could make out. I mean, it's nine kinds of crazy, but I found this too." He stops on a page and Dean leans forward looking at it.
"Where's Hallie? Why isn't she with him?" James asks worried about his baby.
The page is shown to say Dean 35 -111 circled in black sharpie.
"Now, you're staying right here till you tell me exactly what the hell that means." The sheriff says pointing towards the message that Dean hadn't stopped staring at when he looks at the sheriff with pursed lips.
"No?" The sheriff asks. "Well, then why don't we talk about the girl brought in with you."
The scene changed to Carter sitting at a cops desk.
"Oh, thank Merlin." James muttered looking relieved that his daughter was unharmed.
"So... how do you know the suspect?" The cop named Roberts asks and Carter doesn't answer. "It's ok, he can't hurt you, you're safe now."
The only reaction he got was a glare.
"Ok, how long has he had you?" Roberts asks.
"Had me?" Carter asks back annoyed wanting to know what he was fishing for.
"Yea, when did he take you, and where?" Roberts rephrased and Carter took a breath to calm herself down.
"Well, you know it's just been so long... I don't even remember..." Carter says pretending to think about it and Roberts nods.
"You're doing good." He encourages.
"I think it might have been when I was around the age 0f... none of you're damn business." Carter says rolling her eyes sitting back in the chair.
"Hallie Grace Potter!" Lily exclaims flabbergasted by the way her daughter is treating the man.
"You think he kidnapped me? Trust me, I'm SO annoying that if he had kidnapped me, he would have given me back to my family within a moments notice. Like wouldn't even have to think about it. He's my brother you dick!"
"Then how did we end up here?" James says sadly.
"We would just need to see the paperwork and speak to your parents." Roberts says not exactly believing the girl before him.
"Yea? You and me both." Carter says sarcastically.
"Well... someone has daddy issues." Draco says chuckling.
The scene switches to Sam knocking on a door that was opened by a man.
"Hi, uh, are you Joseph Welch?" Sam asks the man.
"No. Absolutely not. He is not about to put that man through the horrors of reliving his entire families death." Molly says wanting to believe herself but knowing better.
"Yea." The man nods standing in the doorway.
The scene changed to a closeup of the picture of John, Dean, Sam, and Carter.
"Yea, he was older, but that's him." Joseph says and hands the photo back to Sam. "He came by 3 or 4 days ago, said he was a reporter."
"So at least we know he was alive 3 days ago." Amelia says. "The kids hadn't heard from them in 2 weeks."
"That's right." Sam confirms as they walk together. "We're working on a story together." Sam says nodding and looks at Joseph.
"Well, I don't know what the hell kind of story you're working on..." Joseph says looking at Sam before looking away. "The questions he asked me."
"About your late wife, Constance." Sam guessed.
"So now he has to got through this twice." Molly says sad for the man.
"He asked me where she was buried." Joseph tells Sam.
"And where is that again?" Sam asks him.
"What, I got to go through this twice?" Joseph asks upset.
Molly shakes her head upset.
"It's fact checking, if you don't mind." Sam says without missing a beat.
"Who the hell are these guys?" Remus asks serious.
"In a plot behind my old place over on Breckinridge." Joseph says after taking a deep breath.
"Why did you move?" Sam asks him.
"I'm not gonna live in the house where my children died." Joseph answers upset and Sam steps in front of them making them stop.
"Understandable." Lily mutters as she had thought of moving many times through the years but couldn't bear to change or move the nursery that was still the same as it was from that dreadful night. It had wet wipes that had long since dried out left over on the changing table from when James had changed Hallie last and accidentally pulled too many out. And her toys on the floor that she had played with that day. If she moved it could never be replicated and she couldn't lose the only room she could go to that made her feel close to her daughter.
"Mr. Welch, did you ever marry again?" Sam asks him making Joseph shake his head.
"Um... what? What does that have to do with anything?" Sirius asks.
"No way. Constance.... She was the love of my life." Joseph tells Sam sadly. "Prettiest woman I've ever known."
"So you had a happy marriage." Sam prods.
"My goodness, the nerve of him! Can't he see that this man is clearly grieving and he isn't helping!" Molly exclaims.
"Definitely." Joseph says after pausing for a minute and squints at Sam.
"Well, that should do it." Sam says and looks down before looking at Joseph. "Thanks for your time." Sam says as he turns and walks away.
Sam pauses at the car looking down at the keys before looking straight ahead.
"Mr. Welch, you ever hear of a woman in white?" Sam calls to the retreating man causing him to turn and look back at Sam.
"A what?" Joseph asks confused.
"Literally, our question for the entire episode." Andromeda says.
"A woman in white or sometimes a weeping woman." Sam asks again and continues after getting no response. "It's a ghost story. Well, it's more of a phenomenon, really." Sam says and starts walking back towards Joseph putting the keys in his pocket.
"Um, they're spirits. They've been sighted for hundreds of years, dozens of places in Hawaii and Mexico, lately in Arizona Indiana. All these different women, you understand, but all share the same story." Sam says as he stops in front of Joseph.
"Boy, I don't care much for nonsense." Joseph says shaking his head and turns and walks away as Sam follows.
"You see, when they were alive, their husbands were unfaithful to them, and these women," Sam pause as Joseph stops walking before continuing. "Basically suffering from temporary insanity, murdered their children."
At that many gasps filed throughout the room at the thought of something so horrible happening.
Joseph turned back around glaring at Sam.
"Then, once they realized what they had done, they took their own lives. So now their spirits are cursed, walking backs roads, waterways, and if they find an unfaithful man, they kill him, and that man is never seen again." Sam tells Joseph with a calm face.
"Ok, so I mean I guess that makes sense as to why they were looking into the man that went missing. He must have been unfaithful." Remus muttered to himself.
"But does it though? I mean, even if he was that doesn't explain why they are are looking into it at all... or why the father was looking into it." Sirius rebuttals and Remus nods slightly in agreement.
"You think..." Joseph cuts himself off angrily. "You think that has something to do with Constance, you smart ass?"
Joseph moves closer to Sam, but he's not intimidated.
"You tell me." Sam says calmly and Joseph's lip quivers.
"I mean, maybe... maybe I made some mistakes, but no matter what I did, Constance never would have killed her own children." Joseph said angrily. "Now, you get the hell out of here, and you don't come back."
Joseph said and turned and walked away again.
"What exactly was the point of that?" Narcissa asks. "I'm sure he already felt bad enough without all of that."
