The screen changes to the woods showing Haley, Ben, and a man.
"I don't think Ben should come." Said the man.
"Roy..." Haley trails off.
"Look, you're paying me good money to keep everybody safe. I think Bens safest at home." Roy said to Haley as the impala pulls up behind them making them turn and look at the car.
"No... no... please no." Lily pleads with anyone who'll listen hoping her baby isn't about to be in danger while James did the same.
"You guys got room for three more?" Dean asks getting out of the car shocking Haley.
"Wait, you wanna come with us?" Haley asks raising her eyebrows.
"Who are these guys?" Roy asks Haley.
"I feel like he's going to be a problem." Regulas says eyeing the man.
"Apparently it's all the park service could muster up for search and rescue." Haley answers Roy as Sam wraps an arm around Carters shoulders walking past them.
"You're rangers?" Roy questions with a scoff.
"That's right." Dean answers with a nod.
"And you're hiking out in biker boots and jeans?" Haley asks Dean as Sam and Carter had already walked away.
"That is a fair point." Sirius mutters nodding.
"Well sweetheart, I don't do shorts." Dean says glancing down at his outfit and walks past Haley.
This made many people laugh. Although the marauders and Lily were too tense to find such humor.
"What? You think this is funny? It's dangerous back country out there. Her brother might be hurt." Roy snaps at Dean and Carter and Sam share a look.
"Believe me, I know how dangerous it can be. We just want to help them find their brother, that's all." Dean says honestly and walks to Sam and Carter and leads them away.
"I don't want her anywhere near there." James says shaking his head worried.
The scene changes to reveal a dirty man in a dark area. Then another covered in blood hanging from the ceiling.
Lily covers her mouth to stop herself from puking.
A tall figure shows itself making the man covered in blood scream as the other man turns away from the monster refusing to watch.
Lily, Andromeda, Tonks, and many others have tears running down there face as they realize the fate of the man.
"I want her out of there James. I want her out of there now." Lily says between sobs.
"I know love, we'll find her. I promise." James says holding her close.
The frame changed showing the six people hiking. Roy was leading followed by Dean, Haley, Ben, Carter, and then Sam.
"So Roy... you said you did a little hunting." Dean says.
"Yea, more than a little." Roy corrects.
"Uh huh. What kind of furry critters do you hunt?" Carter asks from behind as she pulls her hair up into a messy bun.
"Mostly buck, sometimes bear." Roy says glancing back at Carter as Dean passes him.
"Tell me, uh, Bambi or yogi ever hunt you back?" Carter says smiling and Sam reaches forward and pinches her arm. "Ow." She whispers to him.
All of the sudden Roy grabs Deans shoulder and tugs him back roughly making everyone freeze.
"This is the last place they need to be fighting." McGonagall scolds watching the two closely.
"Whatcha doin, Roy?" Dean challenges Roy.
Roy grabbed a stick and poked it into the ground, revealing a bear trap Dean had almost stepped in. Roy looked at Dean with a smirk.
Many people let out a shout of fear at that.
"That's completely barbaric!" Hermione shouts disgusted.
"You should watch where you're going... ranger." Roy says condescendingly.
Roy dropped the stick and retook the lead as Dean chuckled weakly sharing a look with Sam and Carter.
"It's a bear trap." Dean said nodding and Sam puts the duffle back over his shoulder while Haley and Ben walk towards Dean. Sam wraps his other arm around Carter letting her get in front of him.
Haley caught up to Dean and stopped him.
"You didn't pack any provisions. You guys are carrying a duffle bag. You're not rangers." She says grabbing deans arm. "So who the hell are you?"
"Oh no. Oh no, oh no, oh no. She knows. She knows it's all fake." James says starting to freak out running his hand through his hair.
Ben walked past them leaving Carter and Sam standing with Haley and Dean. Dean nodding his head silently telling them it was ok to keep moving.
Dean watched as Carter and Sam walked ahead for a moment before looking back at Haley.
"Carter, Sam, and I are siblings, and we're looking for our father. He might be here, we don't know. I just figured that you and me, we're in the same boat." Dean tells her.
"Emphasis on the we don't know part. If those were my kids they wouldn't be trekking into dangerous wood looking for me." Molly shakes her head with her nose in the air.
"If those were your children I highly doubt they'd be able to afford a trek in dangerous wood." Lucious drawls out glaring at the Weasleys making them glare back.
"Why didn't you just tell me that from the start?" Haley asks crossing her arms over her chest.
"Because for some reason they have to lie... about literally everything." Regulas answers for Dean.
"I'm telling you now." Dean says as he swallows. "Bedsides... this is probably the most honest I've ever been with a woman that isn't Carter.... Ever. So, we okay?"
"But why do they have to lie all the time?" Remus asks.
"Hasn't said yet." Sirius answers not taking his eyes from the screen.
"Yea, okay." Haley nods.
"And what do you mean I didn't pack provisions?" He asks pulling a bag of peanut M&Ms out of his pocket as he continues waking forward.
"This is it. Blackwater Ridge." Roy says as he stops.
"What coordinates are we at?" Sam asks looking around.
"Thirty five minus one eleven." Roy says after he pulled out his GPS.
"The coordinates there father left." Flitwick puts together making James flinch. He still didn't like thinking of anyone taking his place in his baby's life.
"You hear that?" Carter asks Sam and Dean as they strayed a few feet from the others.
"Yea," Sam nods.
"What are we supposed to be hearing?" Bellatrix asks annoyed she couldn't hear it.
"Not even crickets." Dean says looking around.
"I'm gonna go take a look around." Roy says.
"NO!" Is shouted across the hall.
"No one should go off alone." Moody continues.
"You shouldn't go by yourself." Carter tells Roy taking a step closer.
"That's sweet kid, don't worry about me." Roy says waving his gun and pushed his way through Sam and Carter to retake the lead.
"That is not a toy to be waving around!" Lily shouts at the man endangering her daughter at the present moment.
Carter rolled her eyes and huffed trying to calm down. Sam puts a hand on her shoulder while Dean turns to Haley and Ben.
"Ok, everyone stay together. Let's go." Dean says herding them along.
We started walking again behind Roy. He was ahead by about 10 feet when he called out.
"Haley! Over here!" Roy shouts.
Haley runs forward causing the others to follow. "Oh my god." She says as she comes across the destroyed campsite. Carter looks around at the bloody tents and winces not being able to imagine what Haley and Ben are going through.
Tents were torn open all the supplies was scattered.
"Looks like a grizzly." Roy says to the group.
"That wasn't no grizzly." Charlie said shaking his head face white.
"Tommy!" Haley called out loudly taking off her backpack. "Tommy!"
"Shhh." Carter tells her walking towards her.
"Tommy!" Haley ignores her calling out for her brother again.
"Shhhh." Sam says with a little more force than Carter did making Haley look at him in confusion.
"Why?" Haley asks Sam.
"Something might still be out there." Sam says gesturing for everyone to be quiet.
"Sam, Car!" Dean calls out.
Sam and Carter walk over to him where he was crouched down. Sam and Carter crouched next to him one on either side.
"The bodies were dragged from the campsite. But here, the tracks vanish." Dean says pointing to drag marks that abruptly stop as they all stood up again.
"I'll tell you what, that's no skinwalker or black dog." Carter says looking around.
"Are we ever going to be privy as to what a black dog or skinwalker is?" Sirius asks his friends.
"I think she means you." Remus says without looking away from the screen.
Sirius looks at the screen before looking back at Remus and punching his arm making Remus chuckle.
Dean, Carter, and Sam walked back up to the campsite. Haley picked up a cellphone, it was bloody and they knew it had belonged to her brother when she started to cry.
Suddenly they heard a man screaming, "HELP! HELP!"
Everyone ran towards the scream hoping to help whoever it was.
"No, please... Hallie. Just go home. Please!" Lily says as she watches her daughter run off further into the wood.
"Everything is going to be fine love." James soothes not knowing if he's lying or not.
"Help! Somebody!"
The group of 5 stop running and look around, the screaming was coming from all directions.
"It sounded like it was coming from around here, didn't it?" Haley asks.
Carter swallowed hard. "Everyone back to camp." She orders and they all turn and run back.
They got back to camp and all of their packs were gone.
"Our packs!" Haley cries.
"Someone took their packs?" Amelia questions.
"So much for my GPS and satellite phone." Roy grumbles kicking the ground.
Arthur quickly adds those to his list of questions.
"What the hell is going on?" Haley snaps.
"It's smart. It wants to cut us off so we can't call for help." Sam says looking around the group.
"You mean someone. Some nutjob out there just stole all our gear." Roy tells Sam aggressively.
"They really shouldn't be scaring these people." Molly says shaking her head in disapproval.
"They shouldn't be there at all!" James shoots at her harshly making her gape for words.
"I... of course... why you know I... I didn't mean anything by it." Molly stumbles.
"Then why don't you keep your comments to yourself." Lily says with a straight face making Molly nod embarrassed.
Carter walked over to Dean and Sam. "I need to talk to you 2... in private."
Sam, Carter, and Dean headed a little away from the others before stopping.
"Give me dads journal." Dean handed it to her and she flipped through the pages.
Wendigos
"What's a wendigo?" Ron asks not having heard of it before and many people shake there head confused as well.
"Ok, look at this." She says handing the book back and Dean scoffs.
"Oh, come on Carter. Wendigos are in the Minnesota woods. I've never even heard of one this far west." Dean says shaking his head.
"Ok. Think about it Dean, the claws, the way a human voice." Carter lists off defending herself and Dean seems to agree.
"Great." He says taking out his pistol. "Well then this is useless."
"Don't wave those killing tools around my daughter." James growls at the screen.
"We gotta get these people to safety." Sam says as they walk back to camp.
"Alright, listen up, it's time to go. Things have gotten... more complicated." Carter says walking towards Haley, Ben, and Roy.
"What?" Haley asks confused.
"Kid, don't worry. Whatever's out there, I think I can handle it." Roy tells her smirking.
"It's not me I'm worried about. If you this thing, you're just gonna piss it off. We have to leave. Now." Carter says grabbing wasn't taken by the wendigo.
"One, you're talking nonsense. Two, you're in no position to give anybody orders." Roy yells at her.
"Relax." Sam tells Carter, but she hasn't had much sleep lately so this pisses her off.
"We never should have let you come out here in the first place, alright? We are trying to protect you!" Carter tells the man aggravated.
"You protect me? I was hunting these woods before your mommy started kissing you goodnight." Roy said stepping closer to Carter.
"Yea?" Carter challenged. "It's a damn near perfect hunter. It's smarter than you, and it's going to hunt you down and eat you alive unless we get your stupid sorry ass out of here."
"You know you're crazy, right?" Roy says giving a fake laugh.
"I'm gonna kill them. I'm going to kill all of them." James says watching the screen sadly.
"You ever hunt a wen-" Carter was cut off by Dean pushing her a little bit away from Roy to stand next to Sam.
"Chill out." Dean points to Carter making her take a deep breath.
Everyone stood around silent.
"It's getting late. This thing is a good hunter in the day, but an unbelievable hunter at night. We'll never beat it, not in the dark. We need to settle in and protect ourselves." Dean tells the group making Haley nod.
"How?" She asks.
The screen changes to a campfire in the otherwise dark wood while Dean is drawing circles in the dirt with a stick.
"One more time... that's a..." Haley trails off pointing to the circles.
"Literally the question we've all been asking ourselves." Bill Weasley pipes in.
"Anasazi symbols. It's for protection. The wendigo can't cross over them." Dean explains making Roy laugh with a gun over his shoulder.
"Nobody likes a skeptic Roy." Carter snaps rolling her eyes. Dean throws an arm over her shoulder and leads her over to Sam who was at the edge of the campsite by himself.
"You wanna tell us what's going on in that freaky head of yours?" Dean asks bumping his shoulder causing Sam to bump Carters shoulder.
Like always Lily flinched at the choice word, upset that it still bothered her so many years later.
And like always James pulled her closer.
"Guys-" Sam cuts himself off with a sigh.
"You're not fine." Dean interrupts knowing that was coming. "Neither of you are fine. You are like powder kegs, it's not like you guys."
"Dads not here." Sam says sadly looking around before looking at Dean then Carter. "I mean, that much we know for sure, right? He would have left us a message, a sign, right?"
"He's not there?" Hermione questions sadly for the trio.
Molly doesn't say anything in fear of getting berated again but nothing could stop her from shaking her head in disapproval at how he was treating those kids.
"Yea, you're probably right. Tell you the truth, I don't think dads ever been to lost creek." Dean says and Carter puts her head on Sams shoulder sighing.
"Then let's get these people back to town and let's hit the road. Go find dad." Sam says sternly. "I mean, why are we even still here?"
"This is why." Dean says getting in front of Carter and Sam crouching down as he holds up there fathers journal. "This book... this is dads single most valuable possession - everything he knows about every evil thing is in here. And he's passed it on to us. I think he wants the three of us to pick up where he left off. You know, saving people, hunting things. The family business."
"Is no one else going to ask what evil things he means?" Ron asks.
"I'm more concerned with the family business bit myself." Sirius tells him making Remus roll his eyes.
"That makes no sense." Sam says shaking his head.
"You know something... why doesn't he just call us? Why doesn't he tell us what he wants, tell us where he is?" Carter asks sadly playing with a piece of grass she picked.
"That's kind of what we've all been wondering." Hermione says shaking her head sadly for the girl she had only read about in books.
"I don't know. But the way I see it, dads given us a job to do, and I intend to do it." Dean says after taking a breath.
"Dean... no. I gotta find dad. I gotta find Jessica's killer. It's the only thing I can think about." Sam says trying to keep his breath steady and Dean nods.
"Ok, all right, we will find them, I promise. Listen to me. You've gotta prepare yourself. I mean this search could take awhile, and all that anger, you can't keep it burning over the long haul. It's gonna kill you. You gotta have patience man." Dean tells him serious.
Sam looked down before looking at Carter as she rests her head on his shoulder.
"How do you guys do it? How does dad do it?" Sam asks them.
Carter lifts her head and looks at Ben and Haley.
"Well, for one them." Carter says as Sam and Dean follow her eyeline. "I mean, our family's so screwed to hell, maybe we can help some others. Makes things a little bearable." Dean nods in agreement with Carter's statement.
"I'll tell you what else helps." Dean said as Sam and Carter turn to look at him. "Killing as many evil son of bitches as I possibly can."
Sam and Carter smile laughing a little, the moment was interrupted by a twig snapping not far from camp.
"Help me! Please!" Everyone stood up and looked around and Dean readied his gun. "Help!"
"I just want one episode where she's safe." Lily says hiding her eyes with her hands.
Sam and Carter shine their flashlights in the wood to see if they could see anything.
"He's trying to draw us out. Just stay cool, stay put." Dean says trying to calm the others down.
"Inside the magic circle?" Roy mocks making Carter roll her eyes.
"Help! Help me!" It screamed when all the sudden the pleads turn to demented growls.
Roy steadies his gun looking scared.
"Ok... that's no grizzly." Roy admits.
"That's what they've been trying to tell you!!!" Remus shouts at the screen.
"It's ok. You'll be alright, I promise." Haley tells Ben pulling him closer to her.
"It's here." Carter informs her brothers as it rushes by Haley then Roy shoots his gun.
"I hit it!" Roy shouts excited and tan to see what he hit.
"Roy, no! Roy!" Dean shouts as Roy runs away before turning to Haley and Ben. "Don't move, Car you stay with them." Dean ordered before him and Sam tan after Roy.
"No! Don't leave her there!" Molly says finding her voice again.
"I'd rather her be in the protected circles than out of them!" James counters.
"Well how is she going to feel if her brothers get hurt?" Molly asks him.
"They aren't her brothers." James denies shaking his head.
"Mate, I know it hurts... but they are her brothers." Sirius says to him quietly.
James already knew this of course, but accepting it meant he had really lost his baby.
"I know." James whispers quietly.
Haley moves towards Carter and wraps her spare arm around her pulling her closer to her and Ben while he holds a fire torch trying to see."Roy! Roy! Carter heard her brothers calling after him as they ran into the bush.
The scene cuts to Roy running in the woods with his gun.
"It's over here, its in the tree!" He shouts and somehthing reaches down and breaks his neck pulling him into the tree."
"AHHHH!" Many people scream at that not expecting for it to happen.
Lily looks ashen as she looks at James and they both understand. They have to be strong so they can get their baby back.
"Roy?!" Dean and Sam holler coming to a stop shining their flashlights trying to spot him. Only to realize he was no where to be seen.
