Easy on me (Y/N)

Chapter 25

Lizzie's POV:
Today's finally the day where everything in my life will change forever. We're going to get the papers signed for me to officially become Tommy's Mama but not just that I'm going to propose to Y/N tonight. We're going to have a party during the day to celebrate with Scarlett, Tom and all of our family then this evening I'm going to take the three of us back to the beach where we had our first date. I'm very nervous. What if this is too fast for her or she doesn't want this? Or she realises she's too good for me? Fuck.
"Hey. Look at me breathe," Y/N pleads cupping my face.
"I'm sorry I don't know what happened," I apologise composing myself.
"It's ok. If today is too much pressure we can do it another time. Paper or no paper you're still his Mama," Y/N assures me kissing me gently.
"No I want to do this today. I'm just a little stressed with work. I think looking at me being the main character No ensemble to hide behind on the big screen that's scary," I half lie.
"Listen I've seen you shooting my love. Everyone is going to love you even more than they already do. If that's possible," Y/N attempts to comfort me.
"I love you so much. I'm so lucky to have you. Koala please," I request reaching out for her. She smiles kissing the top of my forehand as she lied back and opens her arms for me to cuddle into. I wrap my leg around her and kiss her cheek. I can't wait to marry this woman.  She draws patterns on my back and I know I will always be safe in her arms.

Y/N's POV:
We cuddled for an hour before getting up. I start the breakfast while Lizzie gets Tommy ready for the day. Lizzie tends to burn food when she's in the kitchen so we've got a nice routine down. I make breakfast while she sorts out Tommy. I'm convinced that Tommy loves her more than me and that's ok because I know if anything does even happen to me than he's well loved and taken care of. He will be with Lizzie. Lizzie walks in holding hands with Tommy who walks quite well now. He runs over to me as I stand behind his high chair ready to lift him in.
"Hi Mama," he coos as he reaches out for me.
"Hi Tommy. You ready for your breakfast?" I ask kissing his cheek as I lift him into his high chair.
"Yes Mama," he answers bouncing his legs excitedly while I put the food down in front of him. He picks up his spoon and starts to eat. For a 16 month old he's pretty great with his spoon and only creates a small layer of food around his mouth which always makes us giggle. I give Lizzie a quick kiss and a wink which causes her to blush as we all tuck into breakfast.

We take our paper work to the court house and Lizzie cannot stop smiling. She's so excited to finally officially be Tommy's mom. We meet Jarnie and MK at the reception. No Ashley?
"Where's Ash?" Lizzie asks confused.
"She's..uh helping Scarlett set up for the party," MK mumbles. Why don't I buy it?
"Oh ok," Lizzie mumbles slightly disappointed. I squeeze her hand gently to comfort her. I'm disappointed too but we both know today is hard for her. Since she admitted her feelings for me I haven't really seen her. It's been awkward. I miss my friend but she's got to do what she's got to do. The process is quick which ends with us getting a family photo but with an Ashley shaped hole in it. This sucks.

Lizzie's POV:
We get back to the house and everyone is there cheering as we walk in but no Ashley to be seen. It hurts but I understand.
"Hey Scar. Was Ashley here?" I check.
"Yeah she's just putting some presents in Tommy's room that people brought... just give her some time. We all know what you're planning to do this evening and she's known she was in love with her longer than you have. This is hard for her Lizzie just give her a minute," Scarlett pleads. I nod sadly but in agreement. I head over to Y/N who's laughing at Tom who's just spilt his drink down himself. I wrap my arm around her waist kissing her cheek.
"Baby don't be mean. We know you're just as clumsy as Tom," I discourage her.
"I know but don't you find it funny. He plays Spider-Man who has insane reflexes and he drops and spills things constantly," she giggles. I give her the head tilt. She opens her eyes and quickly apologises to Tom.
"I uh I'm going to uh go get a drink," she stumbles over her words making Tom and I laugh.
"Thank you. She really is whipped," he smirks.
"As am I."

Y/N's POV:
I hear noise coming from Tommy's room and open the door to see Ashley.
"I'm sorry. I was just putting his presents in a pile for you to open. I won't be long," Ashley apologises.
"Ash... can we talk? I miss my friend," I request awkwardly.
"I... miss you too. It's just hard. I've finally acknowledged my feelings and seeing you and Lizzie so happy it hurts," Ashley admits.
"I'm sorry Ashley. I really am. I wish I could do something to make this ok. Tell me what to do and I'll do it," I beg.
"Maybe try being a shitty human to make all this easier for me," she smiles sadly.
"I'll try and wear some crocs I know how much you hate them," I tease nudging her playfully. She clings onto me tightly hugging me.
"I'm sorry," she sighs.
"It's ok but we need a picture with all of our family. We all missed you," I request. She nods in agreement taking my hand as we come back into the party. I lead her over to Lizzie who I give a quick wink to. Ashley hugs her tightly apologising for going awol before we take a proper family photo. This is how it's supposed to be. Nothing could ruin this moment.
