Chapter 15: none of your business

(Y/n) POV:

Luz starts to excitedly smile

She runs up and hugs me

I naturally pick her up and hold her in my arms as I rest my head on her

I start to cry

This is embarrassing

"I forgive you (y/n)" Luz whispers

I start to sob uncontrollably

Luz pulls her head back and looks at me

I turn my head away, she can't see me like this

She pulls my face over to her again

She smiles cutely and wipes my tears

"It's ok to cry (y/n), you don't need to hide it"

I blush hard and my ears go down

"You can put me down now (y/n)" Luz giggles

I let her go and stare into her eyes

We share this somewhat magical moment of silence

"Sorry again" I mutter awkwardly and hold my neck

"It's ok" she steps back and holds her stomach

"Um what do we do now?" I hold the back of my neck

Luz turns around to go on her phone and smiles a little

"What are you doing?" I raise an eyebrow

"Nothing"

I peek over her shoulder to see text messages

"Bet?" I turn my head

Luz whips around to me

"I was talking to the girls after you left that day and they told me how you like to weasel your way out of apologizing all the time" she explains

"They bet that I couldn't get you to say sorry"

"So this is all a lie? You put me through all that just for a bet?" I start to get angry

"No it's not like that"

"That's what it sounds like" I huff

I storm out, not wanting to hear another word out of Luz

Rascal flutters up behind me as a walk down the stairs

"How did it go?" aunt Lily calls from the living room

I ignore her and walk straight out the door

"Hey (y/n), where ya going?" Hooty tries to go in front of me but I turn Rascal into a staff and fly away

I need to get far away before I start to get feathery
