Chapter 19: girlfriend for the night

(Y/n) POV:

It's an hour before the show starts

Bosch and Will are exploring while the rest of us relax for a bit

I'm laying across Amity's lap, with our palismen resting on my stomach and Luz leaning on us

Skara sits on her scroll a little bit away from our little huddle

"Guys, do you think we're good enough to win?" Amity asks

"I mean I'm here for fun but ya know how I don't like losing, you know we got this Am"

"Yea, just remember to have fun and we will do great" Luz adds

I look up to Amity who seems a little worried

I snuggle up to her more in an attempt to inconspicuously comfort her

Amity notices and plays with my hair tufts

I relax and close my eyes

I think she's calming down a little

Where we're set up is pretty quiet

I'm fighting the urge to take a nice power nap

Suddenly, Ghost wakes up and immediately goes into defence

I feel Amity's body tense up from under me

I jump a little and look up to what Ghost is so mad at and what Amity is so scared of

"Hey greenie, you and your new girlfriend trying out for the loser contest?" She says to Amity

Ghost starts hissing at her

"Feral beast" she scoffs at them

A black cat jumps up into her arms

"Good kitty Faang" she coos at it

I stay silent for a second and she giggles

She looks me up and down, noticing my shirt

"Anything to say bad girl?" She leans down to me

I stand up and look down at her a little

She is not intimidated by me at all

"What do you want?" I ask her in a calm tone

She looks a little annoyed that I didn't respond how she wanted

"She hasn't told you about me, has she?" She tries to get me going again

"Obviously you're not important if I don't know you" I roll my eyes

"Pfft, me? Not important?" She tips her head back and has a hard laugh

"Well who are you then?" I cross my arms

"You haven't heard of my daddy? He's one of the richest witches on the boiling isles and one of the emperors highest investors. I come from a-"

"No I mean who are you to us dipshit, I don't give two fucks about your daddy" I say

She gets a little embarrassed

"Oh... an old... acquaintence of Amity's, that's all" she looks past me to a nervous Amity

Before I even open my mouth she starts up again

"So, you replace me with Owl lady's offspring? I didn't expect your standards to drop that low" she rests her face in her hand with a smirk

I wind up to deck her in the face but Amity gets up and pulls my arm down

"Go away Harlow" Amity says sternly
