-       NO POV       -

The Avengers are currently fighting the Chitauri, an alien race that Loki brought to Earth.  Iron Man was flying between the buildings, when he had a call coming in.

Nick Fury: Stark, we have a problem.

Iron Man: I think we're aware considering we're currently FIGHTING the problem.

Fury: Well, add two more problems.  The DA just gave the go ahead, and a nuclear warhead is heading straight towards you to level Manhattan.

Tony's eyes widened.

Iron Man: Are you serious?  What's the second problem?

Fury: Something just entered the upper atmosphere.  It's heading straight for the city.

Iron Man: Great.  Any idea what it i-

He was cut off as a large metal sphere hit him, plummeting towards the streets, landing near a building that had a group of civilians hiding in it.  Tony was send flying into a building, groaning as he slowly got up.

Iron Man: Nevermind... I found it.

- Leek POV -

Huh, what was that?  Eh, probably just a large bird.  I'm finally here.  That was a long trip, I just hope this planet is more... accepting of other races than the last one.  I pressed a keypad and got out of the pod, stretching my arms.  Then I looked around, seeing that the city looked like a war zone.

Leek: What the hell?

I noticed a group of people in a building nearby.  Those must be inhabitants.  I walked towards them, but they cowered and looked terrified.

Leek: Hey it's okay, I'm not gonna hurt you.  What happened here?

A little girl stood up and walked towards me, despite her mother trying to pull her back.

Girl: You don't look like them...

Leek: Them?

Suddenly I sensed something heading towards us.  I turned around, seeing a missile heading straight towards the girl.  I jumped up and stomped it into the ground, stopping it before it could hit her.  I turned around, glaring.

Leek: Okay, then.  Who shot that?

Dozens of humanoid creatures started coming out of alleys and flying down on weird floating platforms.

Leek: Chitauri?  Seriously?  Ugh, just my luck.  Kid, I suggest you step back.  I don't want you getting hurt.

The girl's mom ran out and grabbed her daughter, running back towards their shelter.  One of the Chitauri shot at them, but I appeared in front of them, knocking the shot away.  I glared at the horde.

Leek: So long as I'm here... you're not hurting anyone else!

I put my hands in front of me, slowly pulling them apart as a ball of red energy appeared.
