"MOM, DAD!" (loud crashing sound). I broke out of my reverie as my shoulder was being tapped by a little old lady sitting beside me. "Dear can you please close the window? The cold breeze entering through it is causing my sinus pain to increase." She said. "Sure ma'am" I closed the window and got up of my seat as my stop had come. I got down from the bus and plucked in my air pods.

It was a bright sunny morning, but my head was still stuck at the scene from that night that replayed itself few moments back. But suddenly a vigorous shaking of my shoulder made me open my air pods. "I am not in the mood for fooling around Carla!" I said with annoyance in my tone. "What?! It is a bright sunny morning and you're not in the mood for having fun? You were so goofy and jolly few days back. But now you have changed a big deal." My best friend added with her brows knitted together with confusion. "It's nothing much Carla. I'm just stressed with studies, so I am not getting enough sleep." I took a deep breath. "Okay fine, what fun do you want to have today? I will surely accompany you" I continued while squishing her chubby cheeks to cheer her up. She slapped my hands away in excitement (Ik it is very odd for someone to do that, but Carla always does that only to place her hands on her cheeks and act like the figure from the painting "The Scream". She is an art lover and she likes imitating the drawings). "Well, well, we can either go to the movies or the newly opened art gallery." She said in an excited tone. I smiled to agree with her. "Thank you my 'Favourite Friend'" She said and continued blabbering until we entered the crowded corridors of St James High.

As soon as we entered the corridor my girlfriend Rebecca picked me up from the ground and attacked me with kisses all over my face making me giggle. "Good morning babe!" she said with her bright smile. "Ah! Stop it Rebe everyone is staring at us." I said as I blushed and she put me down with a final peck on my lips which I responded by pulling her in by her nape for a deeper kiss. "My holy eyes! Now I know why Ms Willis had a long face while coming to school. My bestie Sam has been missing Rebe. But you piece of shit should be grateful to me because I was the one who made her smile. But now Samu is giving all her attention to her who is taking credit for what I did." Carla said with a pout. "Aww my over dramatic 'Favourite friend' I would like to thank you for making my day bright and jolly," I said with a giggle. "Me too," added Rebe. "Don't have to be so cheesy. But now I should take my leave since my holy eyes don't want to see you lovebirds doing something unholy." Carla left.

"Sam are you really fine? Something is definitely bothering you. You are being absent minded more often now days in class. I'm really worried for your mental health." She said in a concerning tone which plastered a smile on my face. After a long time someone was concerned about me after their death. "Babe it is nothing. It is just that the scenes from that night is replaying in my head and making feel like the person in fault" I said while locking my locker. "You're not the one guilty here it was the truck that hit the car. I told you to come to my mom for a counselling session, but then there you are the stubborn Samantha Willis." I chuckled and kissed her lips to calm her down. "Bye babe, I should be going for my first class. Listen, after school we are going to the art gallery, join us if you are free." I said and she nodded.
