"I didn't know why I could't run away, no streets signs telling me to stay. I didn't know why I couldn't let go, I didn't know, didn't know, didn't know. I didn't know I had the strength to be anything but my worst enemy." All I Need To Know Jimmy Robbins
I woke up in his arms. It was Sunday morning. We feel asleep on the couch. He got up a few minutes after I did. “Good morning.” He stroked my hair and kissed my forehead.
“This is quite an affair that we have going on.” I joked.
“It totally is. What is more innocent than falling asleep on the couch?”
“Nothing, people take it for so much more than it is.”
“They really do.” I sat up and he got off of the couch.
“Are you hungry?”
“Not really, but I could go for some coffee.”
“Alright, but you haven’t eaten anything in a while. I have frosted flakes!” I laughed at the enthusiasm in his voice, I could see his humor shine through. He was starting to become comfortable.
“Fine, I’ll eat some out of the box.”
“No milk?”
“No I eat my cereal dry.”
“Alrighty then,” he came out of the kitchen with two coffee cups full of coffee and a box of frosted flakes. I took the coffee from his hands, and he set the box on the coffee table.
“I love coffee.”
“Once you get to college you won’t be able to live without it.”
“I already can’t live without it.”
“Early morning’s for private school?”
“You betcha!”
“At least it is better than regular school, right?”
“Yeah, I went to public school in elementary school and it was vicious, and then my dad transferred me to the academy I go to now.”
“Cool, so it is ten now and the game starts at 12:30. The stadium opens at like 11.”
“So we should get dressed than?”
“Yeah, I am going to take a shower if you don’t mind.”
“No not at all. I will just change in the spare room.”
“Okay well I will be out soon.”
“Me too.” I smiled and picked up my coffee and messenger bag. Tim went into his bedroom and I went in the opposite direction to the spare room. I packed jeans and a red t shirt (good choice) and sandals for today. I put them on and did my makeup and fixed my hair. It was a perfect amount of curl today, so I left it down. I decided I looked presentable so I put my things in my bag and picked it up. I went back to the living room and I still heard the shower running. I liked hanging out with Tim, it was easy. I liked that he isn’t pressuring me to do anything that I am not comfortable with. I like the feeling that he will never leave. He is the only exception. I think I could believe in love now. I think I can let him in. I heard the shower stop, and I dropped my bag on the floor. I walked around and looked at the pictures he had on his wall. Most were just artwork and others were family pictures. Maybe one day there would be a picture of me on his wall. It only took him a few minutes to get dressed. He came out and looked refreshed. He smiled at me, and came up behind me. He wrapped his arms around my waist.
“What are you doing?”
“Just looking at your pictures.”
“One day there will be one of us and our family on the wall.”
