A dream, or maybe not

It was a sunny morning, the Cartwrights were relaxing in the living room and Adam was still asleep, until now.
- Ruuth! - Adam woke up and tried to get up, but his eyes were still opening slowly.
- Adam, it's ok, you're home now, try to rest. - Ben was organizing Adam's blanket and trying make him stop getting up. - Adam, stop that, you just had a dream, Ruth is not here. - Ben said as he thought Adam could still have fever.
- Joe, we should get the doctor, I think he might still have fever. - Ben looked at Joe as the young Cartwright went to get his hat, jacket and gun.
-No, noo pa, I- I didn't dream, Ruth brought me home, she- she found me in the woods. - Adam said as he saw his younger brother heading to the door.
Adam was already sitting and now he could finally see better. Ben was sitting in front of him with that worried look in his face, Hoss who woke up a little late was standing by the fireplace eating an apple while he stared at his sick brother with a worried look too. Joe was standing by the door, still not sure if he should get the doctor or not, worried if his brother could still have fever.
- I don't have fever, I'm ok, I'm- I'm feeling better. I gotta find Ruth. - Adam tried to get up, but his father didn't let him.
- Son, listen, we don't know where Ruth is, she wasn't here when we went outside. We only say a horse going away. You can find her, but not now, now the doctor is gonna see you and tell if you're better. And if he let, you can go and try to find Ruth, but only if one of your brothers go with you, I don't feel good to let you ride by yourself until you're really better. - With that, Ben looked at Joe giving him a look indicating that he should go. In some minutes, Joe and the doctor were back.
-Well, I'm glad to see my patient is having a very good care! - The doctor said as he looked at Adam eating in the couch. - Oh yeah, the best care! - Adam said smiling at his family. - Haha, yes, I believe so! Now let's see if you're really better. - The doctor opened his bag and started to examine Adam. After a good examination and asking Adam how he was feeling, the doctor got a conclusion. - Well, I think he's ok. He has to rest but he's not bad, he's going to be ok. Just make him eat and make him relax, he'll be normal pretty soon, he could have some dizziness and nausea or maybe pain, but that is normal, because he is still getting better. But if he feels too bad, he has to look for me, I'll give some medicine. - The doctor finished as he headed to the door. - Hm, doctor, could Adam ride? He- He wants to look for a friend, but I wouldn't let him go alone, I would send Joe or Hoss with him. What do you think? - Ben asked as he waited for the doctor to answer. - Well, I don't think it's the best, but it's not bad, he could use some fresh air. But don't stay out for too long, you gotta rest! And I think he really shouldn't be alone. - The doctor finally finished and said bye with a smile.
Some hours later, Joe and Adam were going to find Ruth.
