*TWENTY-FOUR*

We sped walked past a couple people flashing cameras at us.
"Billie, over here!" One called.
I heard her name from every side of me. I looked around, but Billie ignored them. Which, I'm not surprised because she's been dealing with this since forever.
"You're gay?!" I heard a teenage girl scream.
I tried very hard to hold in my laugh, and I managed to hold it in. But, it was very hard.
Whenever we got out of the mall, I looked behind us to see if they were still following and they weren't.
"Damn."
"At least it wasn't as many as there usually are. That shit is so overwhelming."
I rubbed my hand up and down her back. "I'm sorry. We both knew that that was coming though."
"Yeah, I'm glad you handled it so seriously." She kissed me on the cheek and opened the car door for me. I thanked her and got in.
"Me too. Were you also trying not to laugh at that girl who screamed 'you are gay?!'"
Billie giggled. "Yeah."
"Can't wait to see those pictures." I sighed.
I was sure that they would be up by tomorrow. Hell, even later tonight. " Do you think we should confirm we're dating? I mean, those pictures are going to be out soon and everybody is going to start theories. I really don't want that to happen."
My mind immediately went to quotes like 'billie is a sugar mommy?!' and 'since when did Billie have hoes?'
I giggled at myself. "What's so funny?" Billie smiled at me.
"Nothing, just imagining the theories now. They're probably still going to say shit though."
She shrugged her shoulders. "You're not wrong, but at least the truth will be out."
"Yeah. Haha."
Whenever we got back to her house, Billy changed into both of her shirts to show them to me.
The red one had floral designs that were made out of squiggles. It was dark, blood red. Almost a wine red. And the black one, was just black with some silver designs on the sleeves.
Of course, I complimented her on both of the shirts. They obviously looked good on her.
"They look great on you, babe."
Her face turned bright red. She thanked me and turned around to go back into her normal clothes.
I smiled to myself, knowing the effect I have on her.

The rest of the week, we continue the same routine. We went back and forth to each other's houses. Occasionally, I went and listened to Finneas and Billie record. And some days, Bailey came with me to the gym. Usually, she was only there to support me.
Every once in a while, we had to go separate ways for work purposes, and important stuff like sharks visits and the times I went out to lunch with Celia. We also spend time at opposite houses just so we don't get sick of each other. But, I doubt that would actually happen.
It was mid june June. Billie and I started dating in the middle of may.
Working from home wasn't that bad, I guess. Of course, naturally, I was still jealous of the girl who got my office. But, that means I get more time to myself and with Billie. I was much happier that way. All I had to do was take 2 hours out of my day to sign random papers and then move on with my life.
Today, I was dog sitting for Claudia and Billy. Sadly, Claudia was sick and Billie and Finneas couldn't watch the dogs while they recorded.
I fed them and watered them as soon as they got to my permit. Billie dropped them off, giving me a peck on the lips before leaving.
I played with them, walked them around the neighborhood, and watched them fight all day until around 7:00 p.m. . Finneas and Billie came together to come pick up their dogs. Well, Billie didn't have to pick up hers since she was staying at my apartment that night.
"Hey, how'd it go?" I asked the two of them.
"I helped him finish recording one of his songs."
"And it sounds so fucking good."
"I bet. I physically cannot wait to hear it." I hugged Finneas. "I'll see you later. Bye!"
"We need to catch up sometime soon." He said, hugging me back.
