*TWENTY-EIGHT*

We stopped to pick Finneas up and then headed to the vegan restaurant. As we approached the restaurant, I got even more nervous. I started bouncing my leg. Billie reached over and put her hand on my thigh. "It's okay. They'll love you, Y/n."
"What's she worried about?" Finneas chimed in from the backseat.
"About mom and dads opinions about her."
"Pshh. Our mom is going to love you. Same with dad, you're an amazing person." He complimented, patting my shoulder.
Billie found a place to park right up front. We saw Maggie and Patrick waiting on the bench out front.
Billie got out of the car and came around to open the door for me. "Thank you."
She wrapped her arm around my waist and pulled me close as we walked up towards them.
When Maggie saw us, she stood up. She walked over and hugged them.
Her jaw dropped. "Bil, is this Y/n?"
"Yeah," she laughed. "This is my girlfriend, Y/n."
I stuck out my hand. "Nice to meet you."
Maggie hugged me, surprisingly. "She's even prettier than you described!"
I felt my face get hot. I looked over at Billie, she looked back and me and scratched her neck.
"Come on, let's go find a spot to sit." Finneas interrupted.
I rolled my eyes. "Okay, calm down, Fin."
I greeted Patrick and then we went to find a place to sit and order food. Suddenly, I wasn't as nervous as I originally was.
"So, Y/n. Where are you from?" Maggie questioned me. Billie seemed intrigued too, by the way she looked over at me.
"Kansas. I moved here with my aunt when I was 15."
"I see, that's pretty far." Patrick responded, taking a sip of his water. "Why'd you move?"
My heart started beating faster, Billie looked over at me with a worried expression.
"Her parents had a bad reputation." Billie answered for me, rubbing my back comfortingly.
"Oh. I'm sorry, Y/n!" Maggie patted my hand that was on the table. "Well, you're here now!"
I nodded. "Yes ma'am. I am here now, and that's all that matters."
Billie gave me a reassuring smile. "How did you and Billie meet?" Patrick asked me.
I looked over at Finneas then to Billie, Finneas did the same. "Uh... Mutual friends. My best friend, Finn, has been working on a song with Finneas. I came over one day and met Billie. We just... Immediately had a connection."
Maggie awwed. I laughed. It was a laugh of relief. Another awkward conversation and answer avoided.
"Speaking of that, how is that going Fin?" I asked him.
"Hey, we're getting close to finishing it!" He looked like he wanted to give himself a pat on the back, so I did it for him.
"I'm excited to hear it." Everyone at the table agreed with me.
Her family was way more comfortable with me than I was expecting. At one point, Maggie ended up showing me some of Billies baby pictures off of her phone.
My personal favorite was one of her and Finneas.

I learned a few new thing about Billie that day. And I'm glad I knew them then.
Around 2, we all said out goodbye and left.
Finneas and I started a conversation about if there were more wheels or doors in the world. Personally, I was team doors. Once you close a door another opens, or something like that. Finneas was team wheels because of all the cars.
We continued this conversation all the way outside and to her car. Billy eventually chimed in and agreed with Phineas that there or more wheels in the world because of how many Wheels Hot Wheels produces everyday.
"I'm for real about to Google this." I rolled my eyes at both of them.
"Okay, well, have you ever thought about the fact that humans use melted sand to cure bad vision?" Finneas surprise both of us with that comment.
"I've never fucking thought about that, dude." Billie responded.
"No comment." I said, getting into the car.
