His eyes were a sparkling hazel brown shade, I sat on the sand as I stared at him while he's feeling the waves of the morning pantomimes of the ocean. He was smiling the entire time, his hair pointing at all sorts of directions; he had recently woken up and decided to hang at the beach. The others were still asleep so Gaeb invited me to spend time with him here. It felt too early to go for a swim so I decided to just sit and watch him.

My skin could feel the warm rays of the sun, but it didn't hurt either, it just felt warm. I buried my toes on the sand, I made sandcastles all by myself, I even found little shells while skimming through the mixture of sand and little stones. When I lifted my gaze to see what he's up to, I was startled as he was already standing right in front of me. Half of his body was wet, he took a dip in the waters, I guess.

Gaeb sat beside me, observing the sandcastle I just finished. He was smiling while looking at it, I could even hear a giggle even though he tried his best to stifle it. He is far beyond what I thought he would be, I thought he was cold and distant, but as the days have passed by and I got to spend lots of time with him, he wasn't bad at all. He's softer than how I expect a man like him could be. His disposition with other people was different as he is with me.

"Do you go to beaches often?" I looked back at him when he asked. I didn't respond just yet, I stopped to think if I actually do go to beaches back at our town. I couldn't even tell, I was too caught up in doing other things at home. "I just noticed that you like doing beach activities... sandcastles? Bonfire? Seafood?"

"Actually, I don't know..." I laughed while shaking my head. He somehow looks surprised. "Don't get me wrong, I love the beach. There's a lot of things to love about it. That's why I'm enjoying Siargao, I love doing all of their beach activities. I'm collecting experiences in life, memories. I'll surely treasure this one. This is the first time me and my friends traveled this far, and with new additions to the team."

"You're very loving Ameelya," Our eyes clashed. There's silence as we both sat there, still, looking at each other. It almost felt like blinking is illegal. I only moved when I felt his hand tuck a strand of my hair at the back of my ear. I could feel my cheeks heat up. "Just by seeing you with your friends, the way you treat me and how you are with everyone around you... You're a breath of fresh air Ameelya, I'm lucky to have you in my life."

My heart was pounding, it could almost jump out of my chest. I hadn't thought of what to tell him, I don't know how to respond, I was left frozen and stuck while sitting at the sand, the sand itself was getting hot as well. Gaeb just sat there, drying his legs through the warmth of the sun. I gulped as I finally managed to collect my thoughts. When he looked away and decided to stare back at the water, I noticed how magnificent his facial features are.

He had the face of an angel, the smile that reflected the beautiful scenery of a sunrise and the pleasing imagine of a setting sun. He had the temperament of a becalm nature, the whisk of fresh air at it's calmest pace. Gaeb is dissimilar from all of the guys I have ever liked. He is the only one that made me feel nervous whenever he's around, the only one who made me feel anxious if I catch him looking at me, he's the only one that made me feel so weird inside.

"I'm lucky to have you in my life too, Gaeb." That's the only thing I said. I then focused my attention to the sea and the children that are playing near the shoreline. Some of them are even reached farther than the others. Some of them are playing with shells and making stuff up using the sand that's piled in one portion. "Thank you for the friendship. I'll surely cherish this one along with this trip."

After that conversation we had at the beach, we went back to the lounge thinking everyone is awake by now. When we got there, everyone's having breakfast already. Gaeb and I sat down too, and we all shared a meal together. One of the many things that made this adventure more priceless. Simply seeing my friends together, having fun and dealing with no stress at all, it was more than enough for me. Their happiness is my happiness.
