I don't know if my life is going to, or even if I want my life, to go on. It's a hard time losing someone you loved and hated at the same time. It's as if life is a book, and don't want to turn a page to the next chapter. Obviously you can't read a book if you don't turn pages. But....you don't want to move on, without reconciling. That's the way I feel.

Because I never got to reconcile with Funneh.

Watching her die before my eyes was the worst thing that could ever happen to me. I was awfully mean and horrible to her, yet she sacrificed her life just for me. But she's a somebody. I'm...a nobody. We are complete polar opposites. Funneh had the ability to fight, be strong and talk back. Me? Sitting a throne getting people to bring me food? People respected me because I'm the queen, and they respected Funneh because she was kind, caring and fun.

My eyes fluttered open and I found myself back in the carriage,  slowly rolling home. I wanted it all to be a dream, I wanted Funneh to still be alive, I wanted Draco to be the loving brother I always known. But, I had to give into reality.

Funneh was gone.

Draco is no longer the brother I knew.

As soon as I got back to the castle, I ordered a bunch of guards to find Funneh at the peak side. Lunar left for her room, but Rainbow stood beside me, her hand grabbing my own. Kyran walked to me and placed his hand on my shoulder. Just like Alec, I could see the little bead of tears forming in his eyelids. "You okay?" I asked. He turned away for a moment, pushing up his dark floppy hair and clearing his throat. Then he turned back. "Yeah, I'm fine," he said with a little smile, but I could sense the tears wanting to rapidly come back. I raised an eyebrow to him. "Are you sure?" I pressed. Kyran probably couldn't hold it and he pulled away. "I'm sorry, I have to go," he said softly, rushing away into the nearest room, which was the storage. I wondered why he wanted to go to storage, but when I pressed my ear against the smooth wood, I could hear him burst into tears. Oh. I walked away to let Kyran have some peace.

Strangely, Alec wasn't with the guards I assigned. His red crimson hair was missing from view. Where is he? He is head guard, and I needed to talk to him. I decided to go look for him while Rainbow questioned the guards.

I felt a little awkward walking around the castle. It was strange, I always thought the castle was a thriving place, but now without Funneh, the halls seemed...cold. The rooms felt empty, and the joy I once felt had dissipated. Also, I felt completely out of place with my attire. My pale yellow gown was torn and ripped,  but I didn't care. I headed for the guards sleeping chambers, maybe Alec was there.

I lifted up my gown as I climbed a flight of stairs to the top floor, and I walked down a long hallway lined with marble statue of last rulers.  I was about to reach the end when I heard the sound of boots coming near me.

A small girl the age of 9 walked around the corner past me. She wore a prim white blouse with a short blue skirt and her green hair was styled in 2 buns. Her emerald eyes shone with tears behind her thick glasses and she carried a book labelled MATH.

Oh she must be 1 of the students from the school I managed to arrange in the castle. I opened my mouth, about to say something, when she gasped and her hand shot up to her neck. The tears doubled in size and spilled over her blouse. I heard chuckling in the shadows as 1 boy and 1 girl emerged.

The boy of them had short blue hair sticking out in every direction like a pineapple, a messy white shirt and blue trousers. He held a straw in his calloused hands. The girl had similar blue hair that was a shade darker than the boy's, plaited neatly across her shoulders. She wore the same white blouse and blue skirt as the other girl, except her's was lined with pink jewels and her skirt had lace sewn at the bottom. Her hand clutched a pink phone, she seemed to be recording the girl.

The boy ran up to her, guffawing," like our spitball Olivia?"  None of the kids seem go realize I was speculating this. The girl reached over and grabbed Olivia' s book. "Studying for the math paper tomorrow? What a snooze, teacher's pet!" she crowed. She then walked over to a window and dumped her book outside. "Oops." The girl tucked her phone into her pocket and the duo began pulling at Olivia's hair, calling her names.

Right now I am extremely pissed. That goes it! I marched up yelling," hey!" The girl and boy gasped and dropped Olivia onto the ground, who crumpled up, sobbing on the floor.

"What you 2 have done is extremely against the rules," I snipped. "What are your names?!" The girl shook as she said, " Avani Brighteon." She pointed at the boy beside her. "That's Aaron Brighteon, my brother." I glared at them. "You know that I could have you 2 expelled for this? You." I pointed to Avani "Delete the video, now." Grumbling, Avani whipped out he phone and deleted it.

"Good, now Aaron," I said. " I'd like to talk to your mentor. Who is your teacher?" Aaron began fiddling with his pants buttons. "Aaron, who is your teacher?" I repeated. He mumble something under his breath. "What did you say?" Aaron grew angry at me and hissed," I already told you, you stupid woman!" I gasped at 2 things. 1, the way talked to me was so rude. And 2, it brought me memories of me and Funneh's fight. I hate it so much. Avani whacked her brother. "Aaron! You realize that you are talking to the queen?" she snapped. Aaron looked at me and gasped. "I'm sorry, your majesty," he said, dropping to the floor in a bow. "Apology not accepted," I spat. "Olivia, who is your teacher?" Olivia let out a squeak and mumbled," Lady Evelyn." I nodded. "You 3, follow me. I'll have a talk with Lady Evelyn."

I only I had seen the smile on Avani and Aaron's faces as I pulled them to their classroom.
