A young boy trudges trough the quiet forest in hopes of finding a quiet spot to read his book.

"Hello!" Exclaimed a young girl who was swung upside down on the tree branch, coming very close to his face.

The boy jumped in surprise, for he wasn't expecting another Hobbit to be in this forest.

"Hello?" He says to her with slight confusion in his voice, "what are you doing up there" he asks the girl, curious.

She pulled herself up and leaned against the tree trunk, dangling her large and hairy feet from the side if the thick branch.

"Mostly reading, drawing or observing and exploring. Today I have decided to explore" she tells him "What about you? I never see any other Hobbits in this forest."

"Reading" he tells her holding up his book for her to see.

The girl swung down from the tree and landed in front of him. He once again flinched, not expecting her to do that.

"I've been meaning to read that book, I've heard wonderous things about it" She tells him pointing at the book that he now was holding tightly to his chest

"I haven't started it yet. Would you like to read it with me" he asks shyly

"Yes I would love to" She says, hardly containing her excitement. No one had ever invited her to read with them

"If you don't mind me asking, old are you?" He asks her, ardent on her reply

She had a young face but a mature aura yet her body was still adolescent

"I'm eighteen" She tells him smiling, showing off her teeth

"Really? I'm nineteen" He exclaimed, joyful that she was roughly the same age as him.

"Can I ask your name?" He asks her.

"|y.n|. |y.n| |l.n|" She says while sitting and leaning against the base of the tree trunk next to the boy.

|y.n| had |h.l|, |h.t|, |h.c| hair and had |e.s| |e.c| eyes that glistened in the sun. She wore a soft and stretchy daffodil colored yellow dress that reached her knees with forest green bodice on top that was sloppily tied.

"What's yours?" She asks him now curious of his name

"Frodo Baggins."

Frodo had shoulder length brown looping hair with long shaggy and curly bangs that practicaly completely covered his sapphire eyes. He wore a light beige colored turn up with elbow length sleeves and has black light fitting knee length pants. On top he wore an unbuttoned ruby vest.

"Baggins? I've heard that last name before" |y.n| says.

She paused to think. Tapping her chin with the pads on the tips of her fingers

"Hey do you happen to be kindling of Bilbo Baggins?"

"Yes" he replied "you've heard of him"

"Of course I have! I think Bilbo is rather spiffy and very cool. I've heard him tell his story many times ever since I was a girl. I was absolutely fascinated by his journey. It was as if it came straight out of a book." She tells the boy by the name Frodo

"I hope that when I'm older I get to go on an adventure."

"Is that why you came out here to climb trees to read instead of staying in the comfort of you home and read? Because you like adventures and exploring?" Frodo asks the girl sincerely.

"Well yes. But I haven't really been on a real adventure quite yet but I'd gladly go if I got the chance."

"May I ask you something. Why do you like adventures and exploring so much? Besides Bilbo inspiring you, he mustn't be the only reason. So what do you find interesting about it?" He asks her moving his long bangs out of the way to look at her

She pauses a moment to collect her thoughts before taking a deep breath.

"All creatures alike have an immeasurable amount of heartbeats. You will never really know when your last one will be. So I don't plan of wasting any of mine Frodo Baggins"

Frodo was dumbfounded. He had never heard anyone so young give such perspicacious insights on life

"You're different. I haven't met many others who like adventures, besides Bilbo" he told her

"Well I guess I have always been a peculiar girl"

"Would you like to sit with me" He asks her, smiling

Her eyes lights up. No one has yet asked to be her to do anything with them before, let alone someone with such interesting backgrounds. All the other boys and girls her age found her odd. The girls call her 'too boyish' to hang with them yet the boys say she's 'too girlish' to hang out with them. So she's been hanging with herself her whole life. She smiles a toothy smile at the boy she just met.

"I would love to!"

The two youths continued to talk back and forth getting to know each other , laughing until their stomachs hurt. They did this for many days until the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months.

Every time the young Frodo Baggins visited his uncle he would always look for |y.n| Their relationship growing stronger every second. Frodo even introduced |y.n| to Bilbo and to his cousins and closest friend's Meridoc Brandybuck and Peregrin Took also known as Merry and Pippin, she quickly bonded with both boys.

You could only imagine |y.n|'s excitement when she had heard Frodo had been adopted by his Uncle Bilbo roughly six years later. However, the excitement quickly turned into heartbreak when she heard the reason why. She was greater with grief when she saw poor Frodo. His parents had recently perished and Bilbo took him in. Frodo was in a serious state of despair and needed a friend to help him feel better. So |y.n| took it opon herself to help him.

Ever since then Frodo and |y.n| stuck to each other like glue. Anywhere he went she went and anywhere she went he went. You could rarely find them apart.
