When the barrier had been brought down you didn't realize how much was going to be involved with all the isle kids coming over.

Having made everything official with Carlos the year before, everyone happily accepting yet another pairing of an Auradon kid and an Isle child, with Ben and Mal together no one really seemed to pay attention, at least not in a negative way as far as you had heard.

With the merging of Auradon and the Isle it meant holidays and days off from class were much more interesting.

Halloween was never something you'd gotten into before, but explaining it to Carlos for the first time his entire face lights up.

You're talking with him about things you want to do, you're thinking about trick or treating or a movie marathon.

The other Isle members are pushing for everyone to go to the haunted house that the museum puts on every year.

"Okay fine we can all go." You huff a little, you're not nervous, you try to assure yourself as everyone starts getting ready.

The trail up the museum is darker than you thought, you wonder if someone is using magic to dull the lights because you know there's no way it should be this dark. Someone jumps out, laughter ringing in your ears and you try to make your grip on Carlos' arm look casual. He grins and wraps his arm around you, keeping it looped over your waist as you walk closer to the house, the door creaks open and you can see Ben grinning at Mal mumbling about protecting her. Carlos assures you he'll protect you as well and you nod before grinning a little.

"I don't think I need much protection, I worked in this house for the previous two years."

"Mh, but you never had Isle magic for it." Uma's voice seeps in from somewhere farther in the house and you can recognise Harry's laughter.

"This should be interesting."

"Bet the worst thing is gonna be some bad zombie make-up." Doug pipes up and Carlos nods. Before you can agree a hand curls around you and yanks you farther into a room you didn't realize that was there.

Carlos is pulled with you and you can see Doug and Evie being pulled from Mal and Ben, you can hear Carlos laughing so you know it's not an actual attack and when you regain your balance, trying to not be obvious about hiding behind Carlos, you can see Gil grinning at you. He winks and before you can respond the entire room goes pitch black except for a few strobe lights and then a flickering purple glow that leads you to another room.

"Y/N you weren't really that scared were you?" Carlos tries to laugh but you keep your arm wrapped around his.

"I was." You mumble clearly nervous about admitting it and he grins a little, pressing his forehead on yours.

"I don't think any less of you, it was a little scary. I won't admit it to anyone else, I didn't think Auradon could do scary things, but here we are, both pretty spooked."

"I can't imagine halloween on the Isle is anything less than heart stopping." You offer and Carlos laughs a little.

"We don't do halloween, not really like how you all do it. Love the candy, massive improvement." He grins and you lean your head on his shoulder before he turns it, you're expecting him to move away and he doesn't.

You can feel his lips, they're soft and you can't help but want to lean in again when he pulls away what feels like an entirety later.
