"Woah." I was in pure awe of the kingdom of Wakanda. T'Challa is providing us sanctuary here in his kingdom. And I had to say it was a kingdom. Wakanda was nothing like the books had depicted. It was isolated, yes, but not to this extent.
Wakanda was rich, full of life. Tall buildings, wildlife everywhere, people mingling and selling stuff. There was so much chatter and so much culture. It reminded me of home.
"Welcome to Wakanda." T'Challa says as he leads us through the kingdom. Sorry, the golden city. The Wakandans were happy at their new king's return, shouting cheers of encouragement. It was all in a language I was a bit rusty in, but I understood them well. "You have a lovely kingdom." Steve and Bucky complimented as we reached the palace. T'Challa nods at the compliment and keeps walking.
"This is the citadel," He states as we enter the palace. Sorry, the citadel. Technically my palace is called "The Royal Palace of Valaskjalf", but I just call it home.
The hallways of the citadel were pristine and clean. With marble floors and Wakandan culture garbs decorating the halls. I am having serious nostalgia.
T'Challa continued to lead us through the palace till we stopped in a lab. I have never seen so much technology situated in one room before. It looked like everything in here was made of Vibranium. Tony and Veronica would be jealous.
"Gentleman, Princess." T'Challa says as a younger woman approaches us. She wore a casual looking gown with her hair in a braid. Smiling widely as we meet her halfway. I resist the urge to say something about T'Challa calling me princess, when the girl in front of us was in fact of the same title.
"I would like you to meet my sister, Shuri."
Shuri, smiles, extending her hand to me first. "It's an honor to meet you."
I smiled and shook her hand. "The honors are all mine." Shuri smiles. "I've never met a Princess from space before."
"Well, I've never met a princess from earth before."
She smiled and looked at her brother. "I like her." She then reaches her hand to both Steve and Bucky. "It is an honor to meet you, Captain Rogers." Steve nods as he shakes her hand. She then shakes Bucky's; however, she lingers a little longer because she stares at the fact, he has no left arm anymore. Courtesy of Tony.
"I can fix that in a second." She tells Bucky. "That's actually why we are here." T'Challa tells his sister. Shuri seemed surprised but confused at the same time. Bucky explains, "The Winter Soldier program." He struggled to continue. "HYDRA, implanted it in my mind. In my brain."
Steve pats Bucky on his good shoulder sympathetically. Shuri seems to begin to understand what we were asking of her. "Only if it's doable," I tell her. We don't want to put Bucky through anything else.
