VERONICAS POV

"FRIDAY, I need you to comb through the HYDRA Cloud." I tell the A.I. as I freeze a bag of water and hand it to Peter. He was heading back to Queens in a while, but I didn't want him to head back home looking like he had gotten into a fight. I kind of promised his aunt I'd get him back in one piece, which I did but still. It's best he doesn't show up with a black and purple eye. Peter thanked me for the bag and pressed it up to his eye, flinching at the cold.

"What am I looking for?" FRIDAY asked as she pulled up the HYDRA Cloud on the big screen in front of us. "Cross reference the winter soldier program and any recruits."

Steve's words stayed in my head. While I didn't agree with his methods, I had to know if what he was talking about was real. The HYDRA Cloud contains about every single piece of old HYDRA missions and just about everything else. I had to store it somewhere.

While FRIDAY does that, I go back to Peter's side. "Sorry you can't see the rest of Germany." I kind of wanted to show someone around. "Oh, it's fine." He said as he pulled the bag away from his eye, the swelling had gone down but not as much as I'd like. I made him put the bag back on.

"You think he was telling the truth?" Peter questioned as he pointed to the screen. I sighed. "To be honest I don't know. But it is HYDRA, I wouldn't put it past them."

The computer screen blips, drawing our attention. I stand and head to the screen to see what FRIDAY has found. Of course. She found a bunch of files, all labeled "TOP SECRET" Some lines were blocked out. But I didn't need them all to put them together.

Steve and Barnes were telling the truth.

"What's that?" asked a new voice. Peter and I turned to see Tony by the door of the lab, he entered without invitation. "The Winter soldier program." I muttered distastefully as I looked up at the files.

"Well, what do they say?"

Right. They were all in Russian. I began to Summarize it for him. For them, I guess. Even if my Russian is a little bit rusty. "It was a top-secret program back in the early 90s." I had to have been 3 at the time. From the looks of it the Strucker name isn't mentioned anywhere. Thank God. "It was a joint program with the Soviet Union. A list of candidates, there's talk about some serum with terrible side effects." I whistled at the list of the effects. That was definitely something. "Looks like things went wrong, and the new generation was shut down. The base was abandoned."

That was all I could translate, about almost the rest of the entire document was redacted in large black lines. Doesn't matter, I got a pretty good summary of it. "Then that means they weren't lying." Peter spoke up, removing his bag of ice-cold water. I took it from him and pressed it back against his eye, he almost whined. I looked at Tony, Steve was right. And we were so blinded that we didn't even listen.
