I awake again and stumble out of the bed. When did I get back here? Panic starts to rise in my chest as I could have sworn I passed out in the kitchen. My head starts to hurt again but its less painful. I walk towards the door more confused the ever. I open the door and am swarmed with the sent of fresh baked bread. The scent is warm and welcoming. I walk towards the smell.
I see a girl sitting on a chair with a book in her hand. She has purple hair and I swear I've seen her before. She looks up from the book, and I realize it's the vampire, Victoria. I hide behind the corner and start to head back the room I was just in. I suddenly bump into something soft. I let out a small shriek.
"What you can't tell me you've already forgotten me. I thought I made a wild first impression." Says Victoria playfully. I smile.
"Sorry, but..." I don't finish realizing that Victoria's up and moving when it's day out. "What are you doing up? I thought vampires couldn't be awake in sunlight." Victoria rolls her eye's.
"I thought vampire hunters were supposed to know more about vampires and not believe myths that help kids sleep at night." She says winking at me with a smirk.
"And I thought vampires were actually tough." I said trying to think of a good comeback.
She keeps smirking at me. "well I thought you were also supposed to be aware of your surroundings."
I look up at her confused. Then push past her. I have to get out of here before dark. I feel a hand wrap around my wrist and freeze.
"I'm not done with you yet." Says Victoria from behind. She pulls me close to her until our faces our close. In my stomach I start to feel butterflies. Fuck this cant be happening. The next time I head into the guild I'm taking the bounty wanting her location. The guild will kill her and I can move on from feeling this way.
I push Victoria away. "I need to leave."
"Why little rabbit?" She says.
"Don't call me that." I snap. She shuts up and lets me pass. I go into the room to see if Victoria put any of my belongings there. Nope. I turn to exit the room and see Victoria standing in the doorway. "Could you leave me alone?" I say to her. I see tears form in her eyes and regret saying that.
"Why are you in love with me? "Says Victoria with a smile on her face. I no longer regret saying that. I notice how her smile is ever so slightly imperfect. I turn around to hide my blush.
"Are you blushing?" Says Victoria teasingly.
"No. But I am getting frustrated, you won't let me leave." I say annoyed. This time Victoria turns away from me and moves out of my way. I hesitate wondering whether or not I should apologies but decide not too. I will never see her again after this and when I'm... I stop the thought before it comes into my mind something about hurting Victoria pains me.
I walk out of Victoria's small cottage. The outside of it is beautiful. The sun from the outside hurts my eyes but only for a minuet before they adjust, being in a dark house is torture. The cottage is surrounded by forest just like my house. Suddenly I realize I have no idea where Victoria's cottage is and I don't know where the town is. I look around to see if there is any trail in the woods. I spot a small trail barely noticeable unless you were looking.
I walk on the trail for awhile before reaching a split in the path. I take the right hoping it will lead me to the town. When none of my surroundings look familiar I turn around. I will take the left then. The left doesn't lead me back into town. There are no other directions to go so, I turn back and walk back to Victoria's cabin. I knock on the door hesitantly. I see purple hair moving towards the door. It opens.
"Hello" Says Victoria.
"I need the directions back to town." I say.
"Oh." Says Victoria looking disappointed.
"None of the trails lead me in the right direction."
Victoria bursts out laughing. I look at her confused. "The trails are supposed to make it hard for people to find me and get out. "
She grabs my arm and leads me towards the woods. I feel butterflies form in my stomach. I don't want to feel this, I cant feel this for her she's a vampire. We walk through the woods in silence. I hear movement behind us and I see Victoria flinch. I turn around to see a bunny following us. I know why Victoria flinched she wants to eat the bunny. I cringe at the thought of seeing her a eat a poor bunny.
Victoria turns to look at me, but when she does her face is bright red.
"Victoria maybe you should head to your home your burning up." I tell her.
"Ok just continue going straight and you will end up behind the bakery." She smiles, but it's not as bright I can tell she's upset.
A thought flashes through my head, but I know I should just keep walking and leave her behind me I can forget about her I have to forget about her she will on bring me down from becoming the next best vampire hunter. So, I leave her standing in the forest alone and walk back to the town. I turn around and see the tiny figure of Victoria walking back. It pains me to have walked away but its best for both of us.
