gojo wanted to break the awkward silence that filled the car. you didn't find it that awkward - in fact the silence was more helpful because you were reading the book on you phone. you had an online copy just incase you couldn't read the paperback version.
fushiguro sat next to you and snuck a few peeks at the content of the book. it seemed to be a book about a murder mystery or something similar. fushiguro wasn't really interested so he decided not to read on. the sound of the car engine and surrounding cars was enough entertainment for the four in the car. gojo wanted more noise - more talking. so he plugged his phone into the aux cord and started to play a song. you quickly recognized it by the first few notes of the introduction and immediately wanted to smash gojo's phone.
[MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) • Lil Nas X]
"are you trying to give me a headache, gojo?" you spat his name in pure annoyance. "i just came back from a flight and you're playing montero - how thoughtful." you sarcastically stated. "okayyy okayyy~ i'll change it. sorry." the sorry at the end made your heart skip a beat.
gojo? apologizing? there's now way... is he on drugs? did he get sick? why the fuck is he being so considerate all of a sudden...?
you had a baffled expression on your face as you went back to reading the novel. but it doesn't last for long when you hear the tune of one of your favourite song. you began to question how gojo knew that you liked that song - or even if he knew at all and this was just some huge happy coincidence?
[Black Out Days • Phantogram]
the song made you feel peaceful - like the weight of responsibilities and past trauma had just disappeared into thin air. the feeling was bliss, it bought goosebumps to your body every time. the calm tune yet powerful lyrics - it was an amazing combo.
you put your phone down and looked out of the window while listening to the song. the roaring traffic was not a pretty sight but it was unknowingly calm to watch. anger - a feeling most people have experienced... all the people in the cars seemed to be angry. perhaps they had somewhere they urgently had to be - a gathering they couldn't be late to. whatever the reason - being stopped in the midst of a journey infuriated them. it's a natural feeling - when you're given a short hand, that feeling of utter failure induces an anger never felt in the human body. such anger can be handled in multiple ways - some take it out while playing sports, some take it out on others, some while making art, some don't express anger - but tears... angry tears.
you couldn't understand how your brain shifted to such a deep topic. you looked out the window to see that the traffic had finally broken loose and the cars were in motion again. the angry expressions eventually faded - which was calming to witness. being angry is a good thing to experience every once in a while - but it brings out the worst in people. anger, it's a horrible thing - it destroys relationships, it makes you say things which you never meant. it's inevitable - but can be avoided in most cases, at least for calmer people. they are gifted with the ability to suppress their inner rage.
