"Poor child," a voice spoke behind her. "It must be painful to hear such words from outsiders, isn't it." She stood there quietly, not replying to the hooded figure.

"...What's the use of convincing the people of my clan?" She spoke. "Knowing my appearance would create such fear in many eyes. And such an obsession for my death."

"You say you despise the eyes of greed, and any kind that is."

"That's true, but," she turned around. "Who are you, and what do you want from me?"

A wicked grin formed on the figure's lips before saying, "I am Don Thousand, your highness...."

It was quiet. Too quiet. The ravenette barian sat on the couch alone, not doing anything, just listening to the ticking clock on the wall. How was she even here in the first place?

"It won't take long, Tsubaki-san! We promised we'll come back once we finish school, alright?" Rio tries to convince the baffled barian, who stood there slightly shocked, not leave the mansion. After that, the door was closed right in front of her.

"It won't take long, she said...." Tsubaki irked slightly, recalling what just happened to her two hours ago. "I don't understand why I can't come with them."

"Perhaps Lady Merag is concerned about your existence, my lady."

Her gaze drifted downwards, meeting the eyes of a shadow. "Erebus, I thought you decided to stay quiet."

"My apologies for being rude. I was resting despite how much energy you used in the Astral World. Speaking of energy, my lady, shouldn't you be resting as well...despite you." Erebus's eyes directed to the Baria Lapis. Tsubaki noticed this, gently holding onto the cross in her hand.

"Yes...I should be resting, but it doesn't concern me right now. I told myself never to use that form again after... What happened back then." Her statement was met with silence; no words were, after all, they already knew the reason why.

"Are you afraid it might happen again?" The shadow asked; Tsubaki grew stiff. "Are you afraid the Alphas might do the same to you as Don Thousand did?"

Hearing the gods' names only made the barian clench the necklace around her neck. "I am not! It's his fault I'm like this and why I became what I am! It's his fault for... For erasing their memories...."

Erebus's eyes faltered a bit. "You don't seem convinced at the last part. Was it his fault?"

"No, it was my fault... It's my fault their memories of me got erased." She let out a shaky breath, looking up at the ceiling. "If it weren't for my greedy self, I would have...been fine in the end."
